Initial comment

Pagingmrherman, how about making this article into at least a stub? I don't even know whether you are talking about an album or a song, so I can't correct it. Zocky 23:35 Jan 23, 2003 (UTC)

Sgt. Pepper

I fail to see how its cover is a parody of Sgt. Peppers. Tuf-Kat

Kids these days. The album was a complete parody of Sgt. Pepper, with an outside cover parodying the Beatles assemblage of the hip and an inside cover (double gatefold album) of the Mothers in drag, parodying the inside of Sgt. Pepper, which showed the four Beatles. Due to lawyers, MGM was forced to flip the Mothers record, putting the inside cover on the outside and vice versa. Ortolan88
Aaah... all I saw was what was on the page, but I understand now. (Gosh, I can't wait until I'm a crotchedy old man and I can complain that the good-for-nothing kids don't even know what the cover to Toxicity looked like) Tuf-Kat
Crochety, please. Ortolan88

It should be noted that some of the Ryko Disc re-issues came with the "Ugly Mothers" cover(like the original vinyl).

Who's Who?

Is it possible to list who's who on the original cover, as in all the people pictured? 209.212.22.30 (talk) 16:41, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Cover Art line 8

In 1995 Zappa authorised.... He already died in 1993. Please add correct year.

Recording sessions

In the article it says that the album was recorded on "March 14-16; August 2-9; October 1967 at Capitol Studios, LA; Mayfair and Apostolic Studios, NYC".
The quoted source http://globalia.net/donlope/fz/lyrics/We're_Only_In_It_For_The_Money.html however mentions the following three recording sessions: February, 1967 (Capitol); August-September, 1967 (Mayfair); October, 1967 (Apostolic).
Can anyone shed some light on this?

technically ... Zappa produced his earlier two albums

Yeah, yeah, I know an outside producer is listed for FREAK OUT and ABSOLUTELY FREE, but everyone knows these are patently Zappa productions, and Frank himself said the producers supplied/directed by the record company just got in his way for the most part. You can find many expert RS opinions (like Watson's book) to this effect. I think the line in the lede should be pulled, because Zappa fans are undoubtably smirking at the statement. Agreed. Removed or adapted? Rothorpe (talk) 01:59, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

What's with the weird italics in the title?

I noticed that after I finished editing the page, the title at the very top is now in italics. How can I change it back (if possible)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.73.165.145 (talk) 02:10, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Never mind… it was there before. Sorry. 99.73.165.145 (talk) 03:40, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Start:
  • Green tickY A reasonably complete infobox
  • Green tickY A lead section giving an overview of the album
  • Green tickY A track listing

C:

  • Green tickY All the start class criteria
  • Green tickY A reasonably complete infobox, including cover art
  • Green tickY At least one section of prose (in addition to the lead section)
