Water heating not mentioned

In Europe all washers I have seen take in cold water and heats it using electricity. In the Americas all washers I have seen take in both cold and hot water and use electricity only for agitation. I think this should be mentioned. 74.164.41.7 (talk) 14:56, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

That's a fairly modern change in Europe. Until the '90s, hot and cold fill was fairly common, and it's still around. It ceased when the emphasis began on low temperature detergents and low water volume cycles.
Dishwashers (non industrial) have nearly always been cold fill only in Europe, as they ran at higher temperatutres than domestic HW and so needed to heat it anyway. Andy Dingley (talk) 16:15, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
My (UK-bought) LG - about 20 years old – has hot and cold fill but as far as I can tell only uses the hot for the highest temperature programmes. Which I've only used about twice. Mr Larrington (talk) 23:06, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
