Walter Rollin Brooks (1821–1888)[edit]

Walter Rollin "W. R." Brooks (1821–1888) of Hamilton, NY, may be the source of his name. "pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton, N.Y., Jan. 1, 1859-Oct. 1, 1873; lecturer on natural history, Madison University, 1874-1888; in 1874 also began preaching at Randallsville, where he soon organized a Baptist church"

Madison U. is in Hamilton NY. So is Colgate University which provided the biographical data to LC from its archives. Rome, NY, where our Walter R. Brooks was born, is in a neighboring county.

Ed or Mister Ed?[edit]

Having read many of the short stories, I do not recall that the horse's name was "Mister Ed," but rather "Ed." I believe that the name was changed to "Mister Ed" for the TV series. PlaysInPeoria (talk) 23:33, 11 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
