Death date[edit]

The date of death was given as 11 December 2006 in the Infobox and 11 December 2007 in the text. The only source with a date says 2007 (no specific date). His granddaughter has posted at WP:Teahouse#Can someone please edit the date someone died for me? Thank you. claiming that the date was 11 December 2006. I changed the article, with some misgiving, and posted a request on WT:WikiProject Motorcycling if anybody had a source. I went back to the article and saw it said 2007 - I thought I had got confused, and changed it the wrong way. I now see that Gråbergs Gråa Sång changed it back, to conform with the source (though that doesn't give a date). Not realising that, I edited it again (thinking I had got confused and changed it to 2007), but added a {{cn}} to both instances. This wasn't edit warring, honest! I don't know how to resolve this. I know we can't accept information from an unverified account, but assuming she really is his granddaughter, I am uncomfortable leaving the wrong information about his death there. --ColinFine (talk) 12:29, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I was confused myself, I thought the Teahouse OP asked for 2007, but I got that wrong. Anyway, a good ref could cure all ills. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 12:42, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Note that the source Wal died early this year (2007), just prior to his 81st birthday doesn't add up with born 1918. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 12:45, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No, it doesn't. But "early this year" is an easy mistake for "late last year". --ColinFine (talk) 13:02, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
