Semi-Protect[edit]

Can we get someone to protect this page from vandalism? 72.172.44.135 (talk) 19:49, 29 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, this article has come under complete invasion. BlueJuggalo300 (talk) 19:59, 29 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jericho's 25th anniversary in lede?[edit]

How is his 25th anniversary as a wrestler relevant to this show? Was it given a celebratory segment on air? If not, it shouldn't be mentioned in the lede. DoubleYouSeaDoubleYou (talk) 02:37, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it was. Funkatastic (talk) 03:51, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Jericho did a whole promo about it before his match, even introducing Lance Storm, his very first opponent, at ringside. They were also selling a commemorative T-shirt at the show. OldSkool01 (talk) 19:07, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The right name of this article[edit]

Which is it?

  • 1. WWE Live from Madison Square Garden
or
  • 2. Live from MSG: Lesnar vs. Big Show
or
  • 3. Something else

Let's discuss it.

Anna Frodesiak (talk) 15:55, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The correct name is - Live from MSG: Lesnar vs. Big Show and it is referenced as such so if no-one has any objections i will move it to the correct title. Lukejordan02 (talk) 16:38, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Opinion doesn't come into it. The title is the title, so go ahead. DoubleYouSeaDoubleYou (talk) 16:45, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I know exactly but i moved it once and someone reverted it, so they must be happy having it with an incorrect title. Lukejordan02 (talk) 16:47, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Done. DoubleYouSeaDoubleYou (talk) 17:53, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree with the name change. I was there last night and while "Live from MSG: Lesnar vs Big Show" was used in advertising online for the show, nowhere on the show last night, on screen or in the building, was the "Lesnar vs Big Show" part used. Watch the show on the WWE Network and you'll see that the only name that was used is "Live from MSG". That should be the official name used. OldSkool01 (talk) 19:04, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well obviously, there's some disagreement on the name of this article, so how about everyone take a break on moving the page around (and creating who knows how many double redirects) and discuss it at more length? clpo13(talk) 19:10, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent idea. All should observe WP:BRD and leave it where it is until agreement is reached. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 19:18, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm fine with both "Live from MSG" or "Live from MSG: Lesnar vs. Big Show" the question I'd like to bring up is whether or not we add "WWE" to the beginning of the title. I know we usually don't for WWE event pages, but there have been many different specials/events/movies/shows that in some way have "Live from Madison Square Garden" in it. Simply putting "Live from MSG" seems pretty misleading as people could end up at this page when trying to find pages related to Louis C.K., One Direction, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Kevin Hart etc. I'm not saying all of these people have pages with similar titles, but all have done shows "Live from MSG" that might be worthy of a page.Funkatastic (talk) 22:10, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
So much for "leaving it where it is". Looks like someone redirected it yet again. Glad to see people read the talk page. As for other Wiki pages named "Live from Madison Square Garden", there are only 2 of them, an Eric Clapton album and an O.A.R. album. There are no other pages named "Live from MSG". The WWE show would be the first Wiki page to use that specific title spelling. Now all of that aside, no single PPV event/Network event/Special event uses WWE in front of the title. "SummerSlam (2015)" for example. If you still want to include the WWE in front of the "Live from MSG" title then I'm fine with that. However, the "Lesnar vs Big Show" part is unnecessary. Like I mentioned above, if you watch the show on the Network, from the beginning to end, nowhere during the show, whether it be on-screen graphics, screens in the arena or anywhere else is the "Lesnar vs Big Show" part mentioned. That was only used in online advertising. My suggestion is to leave it as "Live from MSG" or "WWE Live from MSG". And in the infoboxes just list it as "Live from MSG". No need to include WWE in the infoboxes since that's redundant. OldSkool01 (talk) 09:15, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've move it back to its original name "WWE Live from Madison Square Garden" and changed the article content to match this title. I've also move-protected it. Please only change the name in the article text if/when the article name itself is changed.

Now, please discuss things here and come to an agreement. Thank you. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:56, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think this is an acceptable title. The show was called "Live from Madison Square Garden", but as a title, that or "Live from MSG" doesn't give readers much insight into what the event was. Adding WWE to the title gives some more insight into what the event was when searching, and allows for the Live from Madison Square Garden disambiguation page to link to the similarly titled music albums. clpo13(talk) 06:46, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
WWE Live from Madison Square Garden is a suitable title, however In the body of the article it says "WWE Live from Madison Square Garden was a professional wrestling event produced by WWE". There's no need to include WWE in front of 'Live from Madison Square Garden' in the body of the article because of the redundancy of then saying it was produced by WWE. Obviously. Same goes for including the WWE letters in the chronology infobox. We already know it's a WWE chronology. Again, no need for redundancy. OldSkool01 (talk) 17:21, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
