Crusader III[edit]

The intake definitely was of fixed geometry which is why it was raked and far forward. I dont know who thought it was "complex and variable"

Perhaps they meant the bypass-doors? They were variable position.AVKent882 (talk) 06:58, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Its a Ferri type, similar to the one used on the F-105 albeit larger.

It had manually controlled bypass doors.

Performance[edit]

Is there a specific corroborating source of the max speed? The reference I have read on the delivered aircraft examples written by one of its NASA test pilots suggests a max speed of only Mach 2.38. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.158.1.166 (talk) 22:07, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Datalink[edit]

Was the datalink mentioned to carry out automatic intercepts like the F-102/F-106? Or was it to fly them more like the F4H-1/F-4B (e.g = in which the pilot flew towards the target being told where to go, locking the target up himself and shooting)?
