illustration of orientation[edit]

The photograph is very poor to illustrate the subject. The description flat plates does not really match anything in the photograph. The description of the direction of orientation with respect to the airflow can refer to numerous orientations an attachments. Most people think of the wing surface is parallel to the direction of airflow. The illustration is not that good but it’s all we have. I have edited its description and added annotations (hover your mouse over the image).
As for the position of the vortilons, they are in line with flight direction, not perpendicular to the wing leading edge. I have just edited the article accordingly (see ref 2 which I have just added). Perhaps you meant vortex generators? Ariadacapo (talk) 07:50, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
