Transfers[edit]

I have removed the list of recent transfers, as Wikipedia is not a news service. Maurimarzal 16:13, 9 September 2006 (GMT)

Nihat Khaveci[edit]

How does Nihat have European ancesetry? He is Turkish. If someone could explain this that would be nice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rokkafellah (talkcontribs) 01:10, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pellegrini - Riquelme issue[edit]

I think this episode should appear on this article.

Fair use rationale for Image:Villarreal CF logo-en.svg[edit]

Image:Villarreal CF logo-en.svg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Summer Transfers[edit]

Is it possible to get a source for the summer transfers for 08/09 season

Player numbers[edit]

Someone came in awhile ago and edited the roster and gave new transfers numbers. The problem is that it was unsourced, they conflict with the official website's roster, and the only thing he actually did was give players without numbers the numbers that weren't in use. I'm changing it back. Charles

Sebastian Eguren[edit]

Eguren does not hold Swedish citizenship, this is the second time that I have had to sort this out and I'd appreciate if people would stop claiming he has it. 81.225.152.81 (talk) 17:54, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Eguren is married to a Swedish woman (He played in Sweden before coming to Villarreal) and therefore does not count as a foreigner. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ablei0 (talkcontribs) 15:09, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, he does not have a Swedish citzenship. I can tell you that with absolute certainty as he did not stay in Sweden for the requred 5 years. I suggest anyone who disagrees to check out what the article here on Wikipedia says about Swedish nationality law. 81.231.155.144 (talk) 16:30, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

El Periodico Mediterraneo, the daily newpaper of Castellon de la Plana, maintains that Eguren holds a European passport. Read about it here: http://elperiodicomediterraneo.com/noticias/noticia.asp?pkid=437100 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ablei0 (talkcontribs) 00:14, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And here is the article that claims Eguren has Swedish citizenship due to the nationality of his wife: http://archivo.marca.com/edicion/marca/futbol/1a_division/villarreal/es/desarrollo/1111327.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ablei0 (talkcontribs) 00:25, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just because it is in a newspaper, doesn't make it true. As I said before, Eguren himself does not qualify for any of the criteria requried to obtain a Swedish citizenship, so those articles are most likely based on faulty journalism. 81.231.155.144 (talk) 21:52, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You'll have to concede one point - Eguren has a European passport. If you keep current with articles, reports, etc... on Villarreal CF you will find multiple instances from several sources - (including releases from club itself) that state that Eguren does not count against the team's non-EU limit. Now, with regard to whether he has Swedish citizenship...You can deny the reports of Marca (rough equivalent of Sports Illustrated in Spain), indeed anyone can deny the claims of any newspaper; I for one am willing to accept them. I will provide you yet another article claiming Eguren obtained Swedish citizen ship in 2008. You can deny that if you like as well; here it is: http://elperiodicomediterraneo.com/noticias/noticia.asp?pkid=357884 To go over the facts: Eguren was employed in Sweden, he married a Swedish woman, he is the father of a Swedish woman, he probably owns property and pays taxes on that property in Sweden, etc... I wouldn't be surprised if all these things go into speeding up the naturlization process that you have cited. --128.122.89.181 (talk) 20:52, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The colors of the Villarreal logo in this article aren't accurate. See the official website or simply the logo on the Villarreal shirt. The blue should be darker and the bars inside the logo are supposed to be red and yellow (which are the colors of the Valencian flag), not orange and amber. Team kits[edit]

Someone must do the kits for the 2021-22 season. The kits shown are the ones from the previous season. We are already in the middle of September and all the other teams of La Liga had their kits updated. MatsLP (talk) 03:59, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
