Attacks[edit]

We had the attacks list from WikiBooks deleted and only a few characters had their attacks list left. Now that the attacks have been sent the the WikiBooks "entry" they are now gone.Someone should revert or something. We also need a picture of Ussop not as Sogeking as well.

I'll start making a "Attacks" section on the article.--SmartSpriter 22:43, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Now that Usopp isn't Sogeking anymore, will he still use Kabuto, or is that strictly Sogeking's weapon? Seems like he would have some explaining to do if he suddenly started using Sogeking's insignia weapon... heh...

Attacks/Powers post Ennis Lobby arc[edit]

I noticed the page had kabuto updated as a continued weapon while encountering Absalom during Nami's abduction. Therefore I believe the feats performed with it thus far count towards Usopp's overall current abilities and power.

This comment relates not an attack, but rather a defensive use of a Kabuto at the end of Ennis Lobby.

Information I have added to the article relates to how, atleast in the anime, Usopp was shown to join in with Zoro and Sanji destroying many cannon balls aimed at the ship with his kabuto. This shows a development in his abilities as this was once seen as a regular feat only performed by the three most powerful members of the crew, Zoro, Sanji and Luffy, but has now spread to a duty that even the weaker Usopp performs.

Panacea[edit]

In his childhood he told his mother of a medicine that could cure all diseases. Chopper's dream is to make one. If Ussop's lies come true then chopper WILL make it. Should we add it in? 58.105.132.61 02:34, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, Chopper's dream is to see the world with his own eyes, he only wanted to find a cure to Hiluluk's disease. Kurigiri 12:34, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

he wanted to find a mushroom capable of healing all the diseases to save his master

The "Official" fan listing says his dream is to find a cure for every disease. Is this dub only or what? Just questioning. 58.105.132.61 07:36, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's a misconception. People only barely remember the Drum Kingdom arc (it did show up in the middle of the Baroque Works one) and they just kinda remember that he wanted to cure someone. -B89

The information needs sorting.[edit]

Okay I've TRIED to sort this page out... But there is so much info everywhere I've reached my limits here on what I can do. I've started to organise it but I've had to stop, its just too much work for one person alone. Angel Emfrbl 21:40, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stolen money from Usopp[edit]

Dear all, having seen the episode only yesterday night, I fear there has been a misunderstanding, The money was stolen from the Frankie Family that later was completely trashed by the rest of the strawhat crew.

Kind regards,

Maurizio Garzelli

No the money was stolen by the franky family they beat up ussop and took it. Thats why the strawhats thrashed them

Usopps Job[edit]

Usopps Job is technically also the first mate. It's only been said twice but that is 2 more times than it has ever been said for Zoro who is the other choice that many people seem to think. Just because he was his first crew mate doesn't mean he's his first mate. And if you wanna know when he said this it was when he joined them. He said "Alright but if you show cowardice I'll take over in a heart-beat" or something to that. The second time was in Skypeia was how he was thinking to himself of how to avoid the situation. Sorry long Post. lol Too much of a newb. Did I do this right??? ~~FuzzyGoldGuy 9:36, 13 December 2006~~

Zoro is reguarded as tyhe First mate (or as it was put at the time of joining, Luffy's partner)... Usopp is just the ships Sniper. Why do you think Zoro is the first to say something in a situation such as Usopp rejoining? Zoro is there to make sure his captain does the right thing and advise him, even though at times Zoro isn't much better then his captain. Angel Emfrbl 08:36, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also even if he WAS the First Mate, he ruined it in recent arcs by going AGAINST the will of the captain, something a First Mate is NOT suppose to do. Even if he rejoined, he could never take up the role again if he had it in the first place. As the crew in the lastest chapter said, the slate is clear this time, Usopp must rejoin on their terms not his own, in other words he can never be what he was before. Angel Emfrbl 09:12, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well true enough but he is still the replacement captian should something happens to Luffy. It was agreed on by them. Although I'm not sure if thats the case now though. Lets wait and see. ~~FuzzyGoldGuy 14 December 2006~~

No he is not... If you READ the latest chapter closely he tries to pretend nothing happened... However, the whole 'Captain Usopp' thing was dropped because the crew wouldn't take to him while he lived in a fantasy like that. He dropped it and said to forget 'captain usopp'. He wasn't ever replacment captain anyway, simply made out a lie that he somewhat believed in (Captain Usopp again). He attached himself to Merry and say the ship as his ship and kept it alive supposedly. It will remain to see if he slips back into his old habbits, but for now, every that happened is over and its not so anymore. Now I don't wish to go too deeply into this, because there are forums for this sort of thing. Angel Emfrbl 15:39, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear God man I have yet to read it!!! It comes out tomorrow! I don't read those dumb spoilers or anything! Why did you have to say something like that....jeez at least mark it spoilers...... ~~FuzzyGoldGuy 8:13 14 December 2006~~

You should expect spoilers from anything on wikipedia to do with series. Plus there are spoiler warnigns on the main page so there are bound to be more spoilers here. Esp. since we're discussing the show here and we need the series as back up. Its actually quite common sense really. Angel Emfrbl 07:12, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's common sense but I would figure that the Spoiler is for someone who did not read or see it. Not for someone who is patiently waiting for the next Chapter. And since I'm talking about before this situation it was not neccasary to explain the newest chapter. At least apologize for it. You don't see me spoiling anything for anyone. ~~FuzzyGoldGuy 9:28 15 December 2006

How can you NOT talk on a discussion page and drop spoilers, we have to discuss stuff like fake spoilers sometimes? What do you do then? Angel Emfrbl 14:30, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Quite Simply, I don't read it then. I don't even edit pages very often anyway. I just wanted somethings added since I can't seem to do it even if what I say is true (Not things like this). But I wasn't even talking about everything before the spoilers. The chapter changed everything and I no longer think he is the replacement Captain. Although I highly doubt that if something happens to Luffy that Zoro will take command. He doesn't really take command he usually just seems to say things that are inspirational and the such. ~~FuzzyGoldGuy 11:36 16 December 2006~~

Strickly speaking, not reading discussio pages has its drawbacks. You can't tell someone how and why something is unless you talk to them about it. So if you never read them yet are a editor here, your missing a lot of pointers and notes. Why we have the Berry, belly, beri, beli edit war going on... And every so often we still get Zolo/Zoro random edits. Angel Emfrbl 08:13, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WARNING. Expect SPOILERS. Desert Spada

Major update[edit]

The article has been updated in attempt to improve quality and avoid deletionist bungholes. Do not revert, do not add any unnecessary info, do not add pointless speculation. If you want to add something, ask yourself if it's information only a fan would care about. If the answer is yes, leave it out. Ark (talk) 21:27, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What article is next? I am asking because at the weekend I'll be around to help. Angel Emfrbl (talk) 00:08, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Probably Sanji. I have the article copied in my sandbox but haven't started making any changes or adding references. Ark (talk) 00:13, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Eichiro Oda has stated that Usopp most resembles an armadillo.[2] Oda uses the color yellow to represent Usopp, and he smells of gunpowder.[3] His nose is nine inches long, and according to Mr. 2 Bon Clay's standards, Usopp possesses the world's weirdest/funniest nose." If you say that you don't want pointless info, should we really keep all this? 202.173.150.106 (talk) 02:41, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia[edit]

Following facts have been removed from the article by more than one editor. And have repeatedly been put back by another:

  • Eichiro Oda has stated that Usopp most resembles an armadillo. SBS questions: One Piece manga - Vol.20 - Chapter 177, Fan question: What animals represent each of the 5 crew members, Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Nami and Usopp? ((JP) ISBN 4-08-873158-1 ) Oda uses the color yellow to represent Usopp, and he smells of gunpowder. SBS questions: One Piece manga - Vol.40 - Chapter 380, Fan question: What colors represent the crew. What do each of the Straw Hat Crew smell like? ((JP) ISBN 4-08-874003-3 )

I say it's fancruft and should be removed. Other oppinions?

I support removing this sort of trivia from this (and other related) articles. Nandesuka (talk) 22:00, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

This character meets WP:GNG qualifications; Google search brings up 5.32 billion search results for “Usopp” in half a second. Usopp is one of the five main characters of one of the most prominent media franchises on the planet. Just as we both have a List of Peanuts characters and articles for prominent characters like Linus Van Pelt, we should do the same for Usopp. To do otherwise is a severe violation of WP:NPOV in my view. Searching for “Linus peanuts” on Google search returns 5.12 billion results, significantly less than Usopp. The article can certainly be improved but “Article content does not determine notability.” --Plumber (talk) 22:27, 2 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
