Shahiv sounds like the genitive case used to describe an amount, to me (e.g., ...triokh shahiv, "...of three shahs"). Wouldn't the simple plural describing them as objects be shahy (as in try shahy, "three shahs")? I've never seen this word before, so I'm just guessing here. —Michael Z. 2005-06-12 22:48 Z

Transliteration[edit]

шаг -> Shah: this may be confusing for those who know Russian and expect to see "shag" instead. See Ge (Cyrillic), a remark for Ukrainian language. mikka (t)

Merge section "Postal stamps" → "Ukrainian shah"[edit]

I believe that we should merge the section "Postal stamps" of this article into "Ukrainian shah" article. The shah article mentions that "shahs" were used in Ukrainian People's Republic and West Ukrainian National Republic, and it would make more sence to have the text in one article, instead of in two separate ones.
