  • Really good lead section!
  • I think you may have meant to title the "Bibliography" section as "Biography"
  • "He settled in Rome near Raphael's studio and it is clear in his work that he was influenced by Raphael's style." ...This is a really interesting point, I think you should maybe expand upon it a bit
  • "It was following this first commission that he requested a patent for his technique."...what technique are you talking about? Is it the chiaroscuro technique from earlier in the article or something else? Maybe just clarify a bit here
  • "This is suggested by the engravings' size, ranging from small to quite large"...how small is "small" and how large is "quite large?"
  • "It was originally located in the old Saint Peter's"...are you talking about the Cathedral or something else? Don't assume that your reader will know
  • It's really interesting that Ugo essentially had his own method; I think you should expand upon this in the "style" section
  • Is anything known about Ugo's personal life (i.e. his family, his followers, etc)? If so, maybe add in some information on that
  • You included a picture of "Descent from the Cross," but didn't discuss it in your writing. I would either add in a bit of information on it or include a different image instead.

Thanks for your comments and edits! Your comments are helpful and cover the whole breadth of the article, which I appreciate. I added more information about his work with Raphael and more information on his style and technique. Unfortunately, I am limited in my responses to some of your comments (size, personal life) because there is not very much information on those issues.   • You will get a more coherent picture from: Landau, David, and Parshall, Peter. The Renaissance Print, Yale, 1996, ISBN 0300068832 (follow the index)
  • The 2nd sentence is badly messed up.
  • Is the Diogenes really such a stand-out piece in his work?
  • Some of the writing is pretty banal: "There is no comprehensive list of the works that Ugo produced, but Ugo produced numerous works during his life."
  • Linking is not good.

Response to Johnbod: Thanks for your suggestions and comments. One question: It is unclear to me what you mean when you say "linking is not good." Suggestions:

  • There seems to be some confusion in the dates. The lead has his active years from 1509-1532 while in the article/sources it shows that he was active from 1502-1532
  • The 2nd sentence in the subsection labeled "Artistic Career" seems to have a citation that doesn't match up with its claim. The sentence "He was most likely self-taught or possibly taught by local painters." seems to have no mention in the source linked and seems to be unfounded.[1]
  • Otherwise, good article. I appreciate the time you have put into it.
