Question[edit]

Who the heck is Uchia Jubei? I haven't read this name in Chapter 312 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by SotY (talkcontribs) .

Never heard of him. Where'd you see his name mentioned? Manga_King

"Shisui of the Body Flicker" a mistranslation?[edit]

Why does it say in character descriptions that Uchiha Shisui was called " shisui of the body flicker" when in episode 129 it was clearly stated by ther members of the Uchiha clan as " Shisui of the Mirage". Can someone please change that unless there is other evidence that proves he was called Shiusi of the body flicker.

It's a mistranslation. It refers to his technique. "Body Flicker" is accurate. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 08:13, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I did you the honor of making you a seperate category for the whole "Shisui" thing. Don't write stuff about topic "B" under section "A," if you catch my meaning. Manga_King

Shisui's age[edit]

actually... as far as I know and I will let a friend check this out for me... Shisui's age was never mentioned in the data books~ I read the translations of the Uchiha pages but it was never mentioned there so WHERE did you get that information then? I can't remember reading that in the translations.. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kayuuko (talkcontribs) .

Good job![edit]

Great idea of bringing separate articles for the clans! Hope this cleans up other related articles.--Francis820 13:09, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is that picture really Obito Uchiha?[edit]

The icon on his back looks like an Uchiha fan, but the hair style and clothing are Kakashi's. The figure appears to be wearing a combat vest against a darker material, but Obito is only seen wearing a dark outfit and never seen wearing a vest in the manga that deals with him.

In addition, given the angle the "goggles" could easily be Kakashi's forehead protector. Looking closely, it's not too hard to see a blurred Konoha mark on the plate.

If we use the manga, we should be able to get a much better picture for Obito. I recommend chapter 242, page 18. --AvatarZero 15:10, 24 August 2006 (GMT)

I'm not even sure why that pic is there or what it's showing. Besides, there's already a decent pic of Obito right above it. I think we should remove the second image altogether. --Pentasyllabic 20:55, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just for the record, the previous picture was the image of Kakashi's death that Orochimaru made Kakashi see when he used the Death Foreseeing Technique on him... How anyone can believe that it was a picture of Uchiha Obito in the firts place, is far beyond me. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.224.28.149 (talk) 20:17, 19 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Bloodtype[edit]

Seriously, how do you know their bloodtypes? 131.215.166.225 12:20, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

what's the point of knowing the bloodtype? KKIPPES 05:50, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's common belief in Japan that a person's bloodtype influences their personality. Cherries Jubilee 06:24, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

yeah, well... your fat! lol jk. i didnt know that. KKIPPES 05:54, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Learning the elements[edit]

I was wondering if anyone knew what element sasuke learned from kakashi. He said that naruto learned his element in a few hours when it took sasuke several days. If anyone can shed some light on this subject it would be very appreciated.Skvalent 02:56, 17 February 2007 (UTC)skvalent[reply]

Presumably lightning, that is what chidori is. Sasuke could use fire before that, and the only other element he has been seen using is lightning. Retlor 02:45, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Obito & Sasuke[edit]

How about adding a line like say um, "Asides from being from the same clan, Obito's exact relationship to Sasuke is unknown. He could be Sasuke's uncle, his cousin, or perhaps even his and Itachi's older brother." 172.194.101.73

The fact that a relationship is not given should be enough to signify that it is unknown. You Can't See Me! 05:59, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unimportant Uchihas[edit]

Since the Wii doesn't allow many words, why do two characters who don't talk and three others who only exist to get owned by Itachi need to be listed? ~SnapperTo 09:34, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This page is a list, those characters should be listed because they are members of the clan, which doesn't depend on how many words you can use to write about them. Arfan 10:12, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
My point isn't that you can't write much about them, my point is that they have almost zero impact upon the plot. They are characters created to fill the background and/or to further along a particular plot point. ~SnapperTo 17:40, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The page isn't exclusively for main characters. Could you point out what is wrong with their being unimportant? Arfan 08:25, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That they are unimportant means they have no encyclopedic value. Since this is an encyclopedia, their inclusion in this article adds nothing to the article itself, save that their presence makes the article longer. ~SnapperTo 20:52, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's an encyclopedia where people can come to look up information. Material should be included for easy reference. Not everyone owns the databooks, people may have the need to search for any possibly-known data on the Uchiha clan, which is why you should make sure they can find a brief mention of the insignificant Uchihas on this page by providing information to the best of your ability. 03:41, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

That you can list them doesn't mean that you should. Someone may want to know the names of the children who wouldn't let Gaara play with them, or the woman Itachi used to distract Jiraiya, or Chunin examinee #83; that doesn't mean they need to be included on Wikipedia. Someone looking for any and all information about Naruto should look to the Naruto Wikia, not Wikipedia. ~SnapperTo 04:45, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If the official databooks offered the information, yes, it should be included. 04:54, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
The official databooks do offer the information about the aforementioned characters, as well as information about approximately 90 others. You'll find, however, that none are listed on Wikipedia, nor are most even acknoledged as existing, for that would be an indiscriminate collection of information. I'll say it again: this is not a fansite meant to detail everything known about a subject; it is an encyclopedia meant to give an overview about the notable portions of a subject. ~SnapperTo 07:41, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Second this. While I can slightly see the use for keeping those three that Itachi pwned, and even then only slightly, overall they're not relevant. As for the shop owners, cannon fodder isn't something that needs discussing. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 07:45, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have the databooks, my perspective on this matter might therefore be influenced, but I think it would be helpful to keep the 'unimportant Uchihas'. These characters, even though they only play a minor role in the plot, are still relevant to this page because they are the members of the Uchiha clan. This list doesn't contain too many characters. I would understand that the unimportant ones may need to be excluded if the list gets too long, but that's not the case, then it's no big deal to keep a complete set of the Uchihas. Of course they are nonnotable, but you don't write articles about them, just listing them here isn't like going too much into details. Arfan 09:57, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see how access to the databooks would change anything, but if it helps. The inclusion of these five Uchiha adds nothing to the article, and their absence would take nothing away. Since this discussion hasn't really gone anywhere, I'm not going to bother trying to persuade you any longer, nor will I remove them anytime soon. If they were to go missing, however, there really isn't a need to add them back, and you should allow them to fade into obscurity. ~SnapperTo 20:03, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
oops, I meant that on account of not having the books, I naturally find the additional data on these minor Uchihas interesting, that is a compelling reason for me to want the information kept safe. Sorry I wasn't clearer 15:27, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
I think the characters should stay in the article. After all, they ARE a part of the Uchiha clan and the article IS about the Uchiha Clan so it would be illogical to leave members of it out regardless of whether they were important to the plot or not. If you were going to leave them out, you might as well rename the article "Important members of the Uchiha Clan" instead of just "Uchiha Clan".
I'm not sure how to sign this because I don't plan on discussing anything else on Wikipedia and this is the first time i've even done so, so i'll just leave a name below this.

The Uchiha Clan's Family Tree?[edit]

Where Is the Uchiha Clan's Family Tree. I think that the clan needs one. If anybody finds one, post it on my question. Ok. edit —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.163.209.155 (talk) 20:29, 8 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

There isn't one to my knowledge. The only family ties we know are that Itachi and Sasuke are the sons of Mikoto and Fugaku. How the other Uchiha are related to them is unknown.Retlor 15:12, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
