Commissioning[edit]

@Thewolfchild: I noticed that you moved this page from USNS Miguel Keith. I've been somewhat keeping tabs on the ship and I have not come across a verifiable source of the ship being commissioned. I do know that she was supposed to have been commissioned sometime in 2020. The Naval Vessel Register, as of 21 August 2019 does not have a commission date and I would have assumed that they would have updated that information if the ship was commissioned. There are a few articles that I have come across that does use the term "USS" but none of them mentioned when she was commissioned. Did you happen to come across that information somewhere? Like you said, sources refer to the ship as USS, and the Navy stated that it would commission all the ESBs. Basically every ship page is created prior to the actual date of commissioning, just did the same here. On a side note, I had asked you by way of ping about another matter, any chance there'll be a reply soon? Thanks - wolf 16:11, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Normally I would agree with you with brand new ship articles being commissioned as USS, however this ship is, or was, a USNS ship meaning that it is, or was, a noncommissioned ship in active duty for the Navy. Whether she is in commission or not, she still serves the Navy, which is why I would be hesitant to change this article to USS until there is verifiable proof that she was commissioned. More detail, better sources needed[edit]

This article is too sparse for an aircraft carrier (even if only for helicopters), and it relys far too much on official U.S. Navy references. Detail on its complement, armament, cargo capacity, etc. would be customary for a Wikipedia article on a warship of this significance. ~ Penlite (talk) 12:06, 19 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
