Only schooner in the Navy in WWII[edit]

My grandfather served on the Guinevere, and family lore has always had it that she was the only schooner in the U.S. Navy during World War II. There were at least five having sequential IX numbers:
- Blue Dolphin (IX-65)
- Migrant (IX-66)
- Guinevere (IX-67)
- Seven Seas (IX-68)
