Tyrone Power (1795–1841)Tyrone Power (Irish actor) – Should be less confusing than the indication of his life span. Alternatively, Tyrone Power I may be suitable as he was the ancestor of Tyrone Power. George Ho (talk) 06:15, 16 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. This seems consistent with WP:NCPDAB which does not favour dates. Tyrone Power I is not attractive as it was not his commonly used name (though it is used in some modern books, usually as a literary disambiguator). Davidships (talk) 13:21, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tyrone Power (Irish actor)Tyrone Power (actor, born 1795) – The form "(actor, born XXXX)" is standard use, while the form "Same Name (first nationality actor)" would be justified if Wikipedia also had an entry for "Same Name (second nationality actor)" However, among the entries for three other actors named "Tyrone Power" at the Tyrone Power (disambiguation) page (Tyrone Power Sr., Tyrone Power and Tyrone Power Jr.), none uses nationality as a qualifier. Furthermore, the qualifier "(Irish actor)" leaves the possible impression that he was or is a contemporary of one of the other same-named actors, rather than a 19th-century ancestor. The use of birth year, rather than nationality, makes his time period abundantly clear. — Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 17:24, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. In fact, nationality is the standard disambiguator if it doesn't conflict with any of the others. Dates should generally only be used as a last resort. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:47, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In serious train accident[edit]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hightstown_rail_accident -- not only was the steamship and rail tycoon Vanderbilt injured in this accident, but also former president John Quincy Adam was aboard, escaping injury. Not sure where to include this in article but it is of interest especially since Power died a decade or so later when, as noted, a ship he was on was lost. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.230.251.244 (talk) 03:13, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
