No, because cell phones are also limited by the closeness of a provider station. Since it seems to have been destroyed, then she was S O L.

goofs and odd things

there are alot of goof's that u can see sometimes in the movie. i think a section or something should be added just because most movie pages have them also. here are a small list, like 1 that i can think off.

• during the scene with the waterspots, after the first cow goes flying by, it shows them, if u look out the back window, u can see a second road leading the other way, with a car driving by.

but after that, it shows the bridge as a single road going 1 way.

• i think theres another one of these when there drving towards 1, anothner car is shown driving away from the twister
• after jonas's truck is picked up, and its showing his team watching, the last guy seems to be smiling and frowning at the same time.

Questionable Trivia

I see that it says that in real life one couldn't survive an F-5 Tornado by strapping yourself to a pipe. It also states that both the barn and the house should've been leveled. I find this highly uneducated and highly unsupported by evidence of past tornados. Tornados (for instance) have been known to destroy sections of buildings and leave items, tables, and funiture in tact in the exact place they were before the storm. They've also been seen to "jump" houses, leveling various houses out of a suburb and leaving the rest with some stripped siding or with absolutley no damage at all. I'm not sure but if I had to guess, I'd say the person that added that was pretty young, using a phrase such as "cut you to ribbons". I'd advise imediate removal of this as it's unsuppported by widely known facts about tornados, I'm not saying you're safe everytime you go out there and strap yourself to a pipe, but with as unpredictable as tornados are, you've at least got a fair chance of survival. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.115.83.54 (talk) 03:42, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

• I know the above was written nearly six years ago, but I just wanted to point out that they would most definitely have been "cut to ribbons". Chances of surviving (if it really was supposed to be an F5) up to 300mph projectiles tossed at a human would be extremely slim. Characters and vehicles

I cut back the character section quite a bit; what was there extended to plot points (ie. what happens to each character), trivia ("he likes soda") and original research (ie. the personality profiles). Likewise, the description of the vehicles in the film is not pertinent as the film does not hinge upon the types or colors of vehicles driven; as such I removed as trivia. Genre

Several folks have had this as a disaster film rather than a drama; I'm of the opinion it's the latter as it does not meet the definition at the former: focusing on the characters' attempts to avert, escape or cope with the disaster and its aftermath. • I agree this is a difficuled catagory to place. Most of the film is centred around the destructive forces of the Twisters, but on the other hand you have the storyline of the two main characters coming closer together (again). It's claimed in the lead...but is it even true? Surely there's a source that can confirm this better than the imdb trivia page. Score information

The page now says that a citation is needed in connection with the claim that the score is hard to find. I can't think of any other way than to point out that you can't buy a new copy on Amazon.com. Maybe that would be more appropriate and succinct.

I'd also like to add to the section to mention that the orchestral music at the end of the scene at Aunt Meg’s is not on the sountrack. I’m talking about the first scene with Aunt Meg, where we find out that she slaughters her own cows and that an F5 is “The Finger of God”. It starts as Aunt Meg is kissing everyone goodbye and the camera swoops over the Wakita water tower. Plagiarized Script

A section should be added about the movie being plagiarized from the script "Catch The Wind" by Stephen Kessler. The judge in the case said there were too many coincidences for the script not to be plagiarized but at the same time too many alterations in the script had been written, allowing the movie to escape the narrow definition of copyright infringement. (All a script thief has to do is make cosmetic changes in a script to escape copyright infringement). Script hijacking is an epidemic in Hollywood. The Reception section is a bit opinionated

In the Reception section, there's some Puffery with the film being described as an "A-level disaster movie", and describing the storm effects as "jaw-dropping" and how they "brought the storms to life." In addition, the long list of other films and mention of Hollywood "ha[ving] to put a stop to big-scale disaster movies for a while" due to the September 11th Attacks is not related to Twister specifically, and feels like something that'd fit better in an essay.
