Questionable relevance[edit]

What are Dostoyevsky, Rimbaud and Strindberg mentioned in an article on English literature? They wrote in Russian, French and Swedish respectively. Did they influence any English writers? Citations required, or delete this part. Crawiki (talk) 18:34, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Useful point and some clarification may well be in order, but that would apply to the whole section, not just the three writers mentioned. However, what is really needed is a fuller discussion of the modernist influences, especially later in the article, rather than any deletions. This C-Class article needs much work. When did the British empire end?[edit]

the British empire broke up very gradually. Alan Paton, writing in South Africa in 1948, is listed in a paragraph about writers in 'what was then the British empire'. Not correct. South Africa achieved independence in 1910. Not sure that NZ was part of the empire in 1911 either.
