Article drafting note

This page appears to be a duplicate of Tri-State University under its alternate name. They should be merged and redirected. Bearian (talk) 16:46, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Merging...?

Since the university has been re-named as Trine University, and since the two pages were basically duplicates, I decided to redirect Tri-State University to Trine University. Now someone who is more experienced than I am, how do we merge the Talk pages for the respective pages?

The fact that even the highway signs on I-69 were changed to reflect the new name makes it seem pretty official to me. --Sleckronmich (talk) 13:40, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
Apparently this article merger was completed in August of 2008. Jax MN (talk) 19:31, 17 March 2021 (UTC)

Discussion item merged from Talk:Tri-State University

Huzzah for Tri-State! Though I transferred away from there for several reasons, I felt it's time was due to be featured on Wikipedia. I don't know if its logos are copyrighted or not, so I'd rather not mess with it. Please feel free to edit whatever you wan to, I just thought it might be a good idea to get the ball rolling. I lifted a few things I didn't know from the website (not too many students there cared that Zollner golf course hosted ANYTHING), but for the Golf Management Majors, I guess it would be important.

A few alterations were made. Chiefly the addition of a Centreville, Merrillville campus, but also a spelling error and a few relatively minor semantic changes. Lastly, not everyone credits Brooks with the fundraising.

I'm just happy someone finally besides myself has helped edit this page. Certainly some of my bias has come through on several areas dealing with TSU, which I realize.

Someone really should try to include more about the renovations going on across campus. (unsigned comment from circa 2008)

This would be a good idea. Some of the information is spotty regarding when they're going to tear down certain dorms, but the renovation deserves a little more attention. We do have to be careful though to make this page not read like a brochure. I created and have maintained this article since the beginning, so I'll try to add more information in about this. Today I added how the name will be changing. (comment from circa 2008)
Check the page, it's been vandalized. I'd change it myself, but for various reasons, I cannot right now 74.133.80.132 (talk) 23:18, 2 March 2008 (UTC) Kuroshi

Original Name

It used to be called a ‘normal’ college. What does that mean?2601:647:5800:7D80:C8FA:93D:CB53:8F29 (talk) 06:38, 18 March 2022 (UTC)

This used to be a common descriptor. A Normal School was a teachers college. It fit the space between research-oriented universities versus trade schools. Most (if not all) have now become junior colleges or state schools. Jax MN (talk) 19:54, 18 March 2022 (UTC)

Sources needed

For such an old university, the sourcing is terrible. Please fix this! Bearian (talk) 20:37, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
