As the contributor I welcome any help in creating links and generally improving it. Feel free! My only motivation is to make sure Grimshaw has a decent entry, and given Hyde's dark side (Brady and Shipman) I feel we need to accentuate the positive. I'll attempt a similar effort on behalf of Harry Rutherford in the near future. John-Keith-on-Grimshaw

Original research[edit]

The original article ends with the following statement from User:John B Keith: "This write-up has been prepared by a former Stowe Bowden work colleague who attended many of Grimshaw’s exhibitions, organised his final exhibition, and was briefed personally by Grimshaw on the Lowry and Rutherford connection and backgrounds. The writer owns a substantial collection of Grimshaws (which confirm his subject matter listed above) and a handful of Rutherfords, has accessed Grimshaw’s retrospective exhibition catalogue (some of the works in this exhibition belong to the contributor), and the Vallette and Rutherford exhibition catalogues. The writer also has original photographs confirming Grimshaw help for Rutherford with a later exhibition, Grimshaw's original steam loco spotter's log book, and a selection of the photo images taken by him at the Barry Scrapyard. Rutherford’s Presidency and dates have been confirmed with the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts website, his exhibition history in St Ives was confirmed 2009 on a visit to the St Ives Local History Library."

This suggests it was written by someone with a close personal connection to Grimshaw, using significant amounts of 'original research' from photographs, archives and personal conversations.

I can easily find several news articles about Grimshaw, and the article should be based on reliable published sources like these. It's probably time for anything that smacks of original research is removed. Sionk (talk) 01:11, 20 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
