Is G = C44 or G = C66 ?[edit]

The definition of the stiffness tensor is not currently consistent with the definition of shear modulus: Does G in fact equal C44? The stated equation for G references C66, which does not appear in the stiffness tensor. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.244.72.6 (talk) 15:12, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

G = C66. Clarification has been added. Bbanerje (talk) 02:06, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Elasticity - Indices are wrong[edit]

The indices on most matrix elements in the elasticity section are wrong. Look at the indices as you change rows. The wrong index is changing. Hamsterlopithecus (talk) 17:31, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Define your symbols![edit]

Most of the derivations in this article do not define what each symbol means. Please define everything before it is used. Hamsterlopithecus (talk) 17:41, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Typo in matrix[edit]

Hi In the engineering notation of the compliance tensor there are two Ex's on the diagonal. The second one should be an Ey. Can an editor or moderator please change this and then delete this discussion topic. Thanks! 62.254.10.240 (talk) 09:12, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
