Article Quality[edit]

The article reads more like a school assignment rather than a wiki article.

I was just about to say that myself. It looks like this is a fifth grade homework assignment. This is one of the worst articles I have ever came across on Wikipedia. What should we do to start fixing this up? chris4682 Jan. 2010

I've pretty much rewritten the article to be (what I think) is a better standard. I haven't had chance to add inline citations anywhere yet so it's still very much a work in progress. Abc30 (talk) 20:00, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This is indeed a poor article, but it ought to be improved, not merged. This article (I think) results from splitting Toll roads, and splitting off Toll roads in the United Kingdom, which in turn has a sub-article on turnpike roads. It may be that a lead from one of the others needs to be added here. I think we started with an article on English turnpikes, which was moved to toll roads and globalised to such an extent that the original content became lost when every one added detail over toll roads in particular countries. The article is partly written in Romanian. Is it normal in en wiki!? --Ліонкінг (talk) 19:38, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
