New Monthly Table Format?

Just came back to here after a long time and noticed the format of the monthly tornado lists changed again, and I was wondering why.

I noticed before that there was an even older format in the earlier articles with the tornadoes separated by state, and now there's the format that was used since at least 2014, are these all being changed to the newest format? Jh23487 (talk) 07:42, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

We have made LOTS of changes over the past year, but I, unfortunately, don't have time to go over all of them. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out and ask. ChessEric 20:30, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

.

Should the November 20-21 tornadic event (8 EF1 tornadoes and 6 EF0 tornadoes) be included as in this version or be excluded as in this version? The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 17:30, 5 December 2023 (UTC)

Discussion

  • Notes: Two discussion sections occurred prior to this RfC and given that several editors are involved in this disagreement, a third-opinion is off the table and WP:RFCBEFORE is satisfied. The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 17:30, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
  • Neutral (leaning exclude) — The event only consisted of weak-end tornadoes. That said, it was the only tornadic event in the United States for the entire month of November, which is why I am neutral. It wasn’t the only event, given Europe had a significant tornadic event earlier in November, which is why I am a slight lean to exclude, since the month’s section wouldn’t be empty. That is my two-sense for this discussion/debate. The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 18:09, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
    • Oppose — While it has quite a few tornadoes, these don't have a very high rating. Plus, no deaths occurred, so I think that this shouldn't be included in the page. And just because it was the only tornadic event in the U.S. for the entirety of November doesn't exactly mean it's notable enough.

  • Support — Event was a fairly significant regional outbreak with 14 tornadoes, 12 of which occurred in a more concentrated area from the same system, and a couple of them were fairly long-tracked as well (the ones around Marksville especially). Despite there being no EF2+ tornadoes, I can see this being a notable tornado system to include, especially since it was the only one of the month in the United States after a quiet time period. • Oppose — Since it was an outbreak with no significant tornadoes, I don't think it is notable enough to include. EuropeanXTwisters (talk) 15:50, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
  • Oppose The section for the August 12 tornadoes was removed and I fail to see how this is any more significant. Similar amount of tornadoes, and neither outbreak had any EF2+. I know this is a WP:OSE argument, but I still feel as though it’s too insignificant to include, especially with the readable prose size as long as it is. 166.198.251.71 (talk) 17:21, 6 December 2023 (UTC) (A blocked Andrew5 sock) The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 15:32, 23 December 2023 (UTC)

April 19-20

It needs an article. It had multiple wedge tornadoes, and a fatality. Another reason is due to the fujiwara supercell. Morganiscoolcat (talk) 21:36, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

We had one, but the consensus was to redirect it back to the main page. I must say that I witnessed some of the events firsthand since I live in Oklahoma, but that's another story and has nothing to do with whether the event should get another chance at an article. Honestly, between the Cole and Shawnee tornadoes, that conclusion didn’t sit well with me. I think we should take another look and maybe reconsider. I’ve been meaning to bring this up.

Just doing a reference/record note that Tornado outbreak of April 19–20, 2023 was assessed and merged on 4 March 2024 after a requested merge discussion seen here. The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 00:07, 5 March 2024 (UTC)

European tornadoes

I think we should have an article titled "List of tornadoes in Europe in 2023. 2600:1014:B136:82AF:0:2C:6FD7:D01 (talk) 12:49, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
