The Game[edit]

-Torment is a single-player, isometric role-playing game.

-You will play a single, specific character, though you will encounter optional NPC companions you may choose to include in your party.

-The story-driven game will have a rich dialogue system and approach similar to that of Planescape: Torment.

-The game will be developed in the Unity engine for PC (Windows), Mac, and Linux platforms.

-The game will be available in English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Russian, Spanish.

-The game will be distributed DRM-free. (You’ll be able to get it from Steam, and other DRM-free download options will be made available.)

Release[edit]

The planned release date announced during the fundraising campaign is set to December 2014. The game will ship DRM-free to the Windows, OS X and Linux platforms and will be available in six languages: English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Russian and Spanish.[1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.15.187.83 (talk) 06:26, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Whoa, thanks, fixed. Let me know if you find something else. You can also fix things yourself, if you feel like it. --illythr (talk) 21:11, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

WHy is the article title in italic? Moagim (talk) 05:05, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Because video game titles should always be in italics. See WP:ITALIC. --Geniac (talk) 15:16, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The article reads like it was written by the producers ( And I suspect it was). It just seems to list endless points about the game, no real negatives are presented. Things like noting it will be shipped "DRM FREE" are clearly being used to push sales. RetroLord 07:29, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article looks like this because the game's still in early pre-production and all the media coverage it gets is mostly about its core ideas and highly successful Kickstarter campaign. The only criticism I was able to find so far, was some fans being concerned about them starting another big project before the current one is finished. In articles about games, negative aspects mostly go into the "reception" section, but the only thing to add to this section for the next 18 months or so will be the reception of the idea of a Planescape: Torment successor and its Kickstarter campaign, both of which have been wildly positive so far, and thus won't help alleviate your concern. Still, if you can find some reliably sourced criticism, just post the links here and I'll work on adding it. Also, while I wouldn't mind being associated with inXile, that is not the case now and highly unlikely to happen in the future. --illythr (talk) 08:52, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Kickstarter[edit]

Not even close to highest funded kickstarter game. That's Star Citizen with over 66 million and counting

Star Citizen has raised far more in crowd funding but only raised 2.1 million of its 66 million via Kickstarter. Torment raised 4.1 million via Kickstarter.Caidh (talk) 02:04, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I can tell, it makes sense to mention the Kickstarter record if it was indeed broken. But apart from that, going back and editing in any new records seems irrelevant. If we visit the page that's being linked to now, we can see the record has been beaten again. Whether any of this is incorrect, I do not know, but it doesn't seem like this information is necessary. We should remove it and only state if the game actually broke a record, yes? Some might wish to include it even if it was second place, or third, or whatever, but the information value drops the further we are from the record being broken (which is in itself not that much information, but I guess it's commonplace to mention stuff like that). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.249.185.2 (talk) 00:19, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. I think it's well worth mentioning that it broke the Kickstarter record at the time, but we don't need to include the game that Torment surpassed, and we don't need the game(s) that surpassed Torment. There's a link to the article that has the leaderboard, that's more than enough. --SubSeven (talk) 01:30, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
