There was also some relevent discussion aobut this disambiguation page at Talk:Toledo, Spain.--Commander Keane 09:52, 13 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see why 'Toledo, Ohio', being the largest city on earth bearing this name, might not deserve some sort of recognition of this fact in the disambiguation page. Even though I am a resident of this city I think the page should automatically redirect to the page of the original and vastly more historically important city of Spain, but the disambiguation page ought to provide a link at the top for the second most likely resource people are searching for, rather than being more than half way down the page and not otherwise distinguished from otherwise much smaller cities sharing the name.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.122.204.207 (talk) 05:09, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Toledo, Spain and Toledo, Ohio should be given prominance in this article. Many more people will be interested in these two articles than one on, say, Toledo, Iowa. -- SwissCelt 00:32, 7 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Superlative claims/no primary topic for disambiguation[edit]

I will concede that the superlative claims listed for Toledo, Spain and Toledo, Ohio are not appropriate for a disambiguation page. I disagree with User:Everyme that these are "clearly wrong from an encyclopedic perspective", or that they relate in some way to a "juvenile population dick size comparison". And frankly, I think labeling my reversion as "vandalism" fails to assume good faith. But I am willing to compromise on removing the verbiage from the disambig page noting the age of Toledo, Spain, and the population of Toledo, Ohio.

In lieu of that, however, I placed hidden text alerting editors to the fact that no primary topic for disambiguation exists for "Toledo". Too often, this disambiguation page has been edited to inflate the importance of Toledo, Spain; going so far as to redirect this page to that article. This is unacceptable, as readers (and editors) should be aware that "Toledo" could easily be understood to nominate a number of different topics. Consensus has been reached to disambiguate the term "Toledo". Let's keep it that way. -- JeffBillman (talk) 04:48, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
