Fair use rationale for Image:To die for imp.jpg[edit]

Image:To die for imp.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 04:30, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article name[edit]

I think for this one, it should be To Die For (1995 film), since there are other films with this title. --FrancineFan3883 23:31, June 20th, 2011 (UTC)

Unless you're contending that this film wouldn't be the primary topic, what you're proposing would be against guidelines. Doniago (talk) 18:36, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. To Die For is being treated as the primary topic, the one that readers are most likely to look for, so it needs no disambiguation. If another topic besides any of the films was a primary topic, then we would disambiguate the 1995 film from the other films. Erik (talk | contribs) 18:50, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Plot summary needs work[edit]

The plot summary is a complete mess and is lacking in detail. The actually movie is told slightly out of order and is narrated by those involved with the story. This should be reflected in the plot summary. And a little more detail is needed in the led up to the murder. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.103.39.112 (talk) 07:05, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Persistent Rumors About Inspiration for Suzanne Stone Character[edit]

TO DIE FOR is based on a true story, Pamela Smart's persuading her teenage lover and his friends to murder her unwanted husband. But media and celebrity gossip have also long claimed that the Suzanne Stone character, and specifically her extreme methods of jobhunting, are based on an actual newswoman. This should probably be mentioned. Younggoldchip (talk) 19:01, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Did you read the lead of the article? DonIago (talk) 17:21, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pamela Smart was an ordinary evil conniver, not a journalist or newswoman. The main character in TO DIE FOR is supposedly (in terms of her methods for attaining upward mobility in the media) based on a newswoman whose name we would recognize. Younggoldchip (talk) 14:21, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There's a sourced statement in the article that links to a news article that claims that the main character in the film is based on Pamela Smart. Do you have sources that make claims to the contrary? DonIago (talk) 17:29, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
