Value judgement[edit]

This article makes the value judgement: "Restricting work is inductive to "rights"". forestPIG(grunt) 20:32, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hear hear.

It seems to me none of these movements are headed by children or have any input therefrom. Are any children honestly concerned with things like "child abuse", "child prostitution", or "child labor" at least any differently from that of adults? Rights are things like the ability to vote, recognition as a citizen with independence, right to control one's own life, have relationships, hold down a job, etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.73.70.113 (talk) 00:22, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good thing this is a talk page regarding the article and not the topic itself. See WP:TALK for more information. • Freechild'sup? 12:36, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comment or Commenter[edit]

On 8 November 2011‎ I posted the following edit: "Removed reference to comments made by Hillary Clinton, as it was the only item that did not mention meaningful change, only a single person's statement on the matter)"

which was undone later that same day by Freechild, who stated: "Undid revision 459595423 by 76.27.43.159 Re-inserted notable comment from the US Secretary of State"

Is it the comment that matters, or the person making it?

I could understand if she was currently working to improve conditions, but as I mentioned, I don't feel that "Hillary Clinton, then a lawyer, wrote that 'children's rights' was a 'slogan in need of a definition.'" provides any meaningful information, or prompted any significant change, regardless of her current political position, and is therefore not pertinent to the article. Any comments? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.27.43.159 (talk) 13:56, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for starting a discussion rather than revert it again. Clinton's quote is oft cited by people involved in children's rights, both as detractors and advocates (she was writing in favor). The paper the quote is drawn from is heavily cited, as well. As a defining statement of the children's rights movement, it behooves this article to keep the statement. • Freechildtalk 17:36, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

With your comment on Hillary Clinton's child's right slogan it would have a great impact on the political standpoint that shows awareness about what is happening ..

It shows that political forces are not giving the issue the attention it deserves..

Nancy Shaffer is the only political figure that has brought me to this place .

As a victim I overcome and step up to the spotlight to make it available for reference to the children who are still today escaping...

I have not forgotten... I am here for them Connie Ford Johnson (talk) 03:41, 7 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
