Cat[edit]

Cat (comics) refers to the same character in her brief "life" before becoming Tigra. The pages should be merged. - SoM 16:09, 25 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, merge.--GingerM 18:35, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, merge. Main page should be under Tigra, with Cat (comics) giving a redirect. Ocicat 19:30, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Pronounce[edit]

I was just wondering if anybody was certain about the pronunciation of Tigra. I myself have been saying TEE-gra for years, but my roommate was always TY-gra. Which one is it? --Marq Ed.

Hi, I run the Let's Talk Tigra twitter account. I asked Tony Isabella, who co-created her, this, and he said he's always pronounced it TY-gra 206.173.106.22 (talk) 13:35, 16 October 2018 (UTC)Dani[reply]

Problems?[edit]

re: the "Continuity Problems" section -- is this really necessary? At no point in Tigra's history has it ever been even hinted that she can change into varying forms, so clearly, all of these subtle variations are just the understandable result of a character that's been around for 30 years while still being obscure enough that most artists are fuzzy on the fine details. As-is, it seems misleading to mention this stuff, doubly-so to promote it into its own section.

Request[edit]

Can someone figure out how to smooth out the 'other media' section? Mangaverse doesn't count, it isn't other Media. Plus, there's Tigra's appereance in the Marvel Zombies continuity. But then again, as far as I know what happens, she looks scary, then gets left behind as Susan blinds her. Zombie-Kitty is in Ultimate Fantastic Four #23. Oh well. It's very late, my head hurts and I gotta sleep, otherwise I'd gladly work on Tigra's article any day of the week. 03:48, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Whoever fixed it, thanks. It seems so simple now that I've seen it. Lots42 11:10, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

100 Sexiest Women?[edit]

Is the fact that she made this list so notable that it needs to be added to the lead? If it;s relevant, find a section for it, but it seems somewhat arbitrarily shoved in at the top, as a non-sequiter. Killer Moff (talk) 15:45, 3 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

TYGRA[edit]

Why has the section on the Better Publications character Tygra been deleted? I worked very hard on it and feel it should remain. 69.157.22.163 (talk) 22:14, 12 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Tygra[edit]

The Golden Age Tygra was named Dr. Ruth Arnold. She and her father were doctors trying to treat an epidemic that had broken out among the native Africaners with whom they were living. To try and treat the epidemic, she flew back to America to obtain a suppy of Autoreme, the wonder drug her childhood friend Ted Grant was working on. He didn't recognize her at first, but willingly gave her a bottle of the stuff; she then flew back to Africa. On her way back to her father's camp, her plane was caught in a storm and crashed in the territory of the Fire People, an aggressive African tribe. Escaping from the wrecked aircraft, Ruth unwittingly drank the little bottle of Autoreme, believing it to be beef extract. She then heard the sound of the Fire People in a glade ahead of her as they tried to capture a lion they believed was their future ruler, the Tawny One. Racing to the scene, Ruth leaped in front of the lion and it attacked her. She hurled the lion away easily and then confronted the Fire People themselves. About to attack, she was stopped when the chieftain realized that she, not the lion, was the Tawny One. Appointed as the tribe's queen, she agreed to rule them as one of them and not lord over them. She then expressed a wish for Ted to come and join her in the jungle. Tygra first appeared in Startling Comics #45. Glammazon (talk) 21:22, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

sus[edit]

The Avengers: United They Stand depiction of Tigra appears in Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers, voiced by Liz Cackowski. She is a washed-up actress whose main source of income is convention appearances.

As a passerby, whose knowledge of Tigra is faint memory from >40 years ago, I wonder how much of this is vandalism. Experts, heads up. —Tamfang (talk) 02:58, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
