Article Makeover

I don't think this is article material, maybe we'd better make a trivia category?

Voted 2006 best customer is David Jones who brought 132 items from this site totalling £2103. A proper geek.

Hangon

Someone already tried to prod this article a month ago and it was judged to pass WP:CORP (diff). According to this very talk page, it was also AfD'ed in 2005 and kept. If this article didn't pass prod and AfD, how can it pass speedy? What this article needs is cleanup, not deletion.

Finally, on a side note, I would like to add that judging by the nominator's contribs (Special:Contributions/Jslanders) that nominator has no problem with adding with adding commercial information (see this diff), but is merely a member of an organization that competes with ThinkGeek...this would not be the first time someone with a conflict of interest tried to remove this article. —Politizer ^talk/_contribs 15:18, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

I've cleaned up some of the more blatant advertising-like content from the article; am currently in the process of looking for third-party sources that mention the company. The one already in the ELs looks like the most reliable (sometime later I will go back and cite it, instead of having it in EL); I did a quick google search a found a few other, mostly blog, pages, which may or may not be any use, I'm just sticking them here so I don't forget them, and maybe later today I can take time to actually look at them:

After a quick glance, I think those are probably all useless. But if you do a search for ThinkGeek at the NYT or IHT website, you'll find several articles that mention the company or have quotes from its executives—not many articles specifically about ThinkGeek, they're mostly about products that it happens to sell, or about online retailing in general, but they could still help for establishing notability in that they're evidence that ThinkGeek has been communicated with a lot as a representative of the online retailing world. Think Geek has often claimed intellectual property with their "Invented at Think Geek" but in fact the real product idea existed elsewhere in a non retail form.
