Mothers of Invention?[edit]

Something about their being contemporary with and influencing the Mothers of Invention? Frank Zappa's "Joe's Garage" quoting "pushing to hard on me"?

Legacy[edit]

Hello... I wanted to make a couple of suggestions regarding the "Legacy" portion of this page. I wanted to get these suggestions out there to be opposed or supported before just making a change to the page. The Seeds' song "No Escape" was never a big hit for the band, but exercised its own influence in that it was covered by 2 other notable bands. The influential industrial (and later electronic) band Cabaret Voltaire covered "No Escape" on their debut album, "Mix-Up," which was released in 1979. (This cover version is how a lot of indus. music fans such as myself first heard anything by the Seeds!) Additionally, the first-wave all-female punk group the Lou's are probably best known for their cover of "No Escape," of which a version can be found on the album recorded live in 1978 to document the nascent French punk scene of the era, "La Nuit Punk à l'Olympia." It seems that this song is energetic enough to be popular for cover versions. There may in fact be other cover versions of "No Escape" of which I am unaware, but for now, I propose that the Wikipedia article be expanded by a discussion of these covers, which I'd be happy to write.
