= implicit notion of historical materialism

Untitled[edit]

In this book, drawing upon the notion of historical materialism,
Engels downplays the importance of political and religious causes
for the war, traditionally cited, focusing instead on materialistic,
   economic factors.

This is a controversial notion of what historical materialism is about - i.e., that it necessarily entails reduction. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.96.80.119 (talk) 20:28, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
