Inaccurate Article[edit]

This article is absolutely misleading. It suggest that Dick had clear ideas about what he could have written hadn't he died in March 1982. Well, he didn't. It's true that he suggests plot outlines and ideas in the letters contained in Volume 6, but he did that for other novels before that, and what he actually wrote was always different from the outlines in the letters. Dick did not write chapter schemes, plot outlines, etc. He simply took notes of ideas, concepts, things he found interesting, but without planning a plot; then he suddenly started writing and finished the novel in few weeks. The novel was what he wrote down in a sort of trance, not what he described in his previous letters. Go and read the plot outlines of VALIS: they bear almost no relation to VALIS, and vaguely resemble ALBEMUTH. But vaguely. They talk about another novel, actually, that he imagined but never wrote. All in all what you find in the letters is what he thought was a good viable plot in the moment that he wrote the letter, but he changed his mind so often! So this article should be way more careful in its description of what Owl could have been−and never was, because Dick didn't even start it. He felt sick and tired in autumn 1981, and he was afraid that the effort of writing another novel could kill him. Read those letters in Volume 6 and you'll see!--93.40.63.32 (talk) 16:50, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Moreover this article misquotes Butler. "However, Andrew M. Butler offers several alternative summaries which contradict the Lee/Dick interview cited above." True, but what does Butler say in the end? Something that the article does not quote at all, that is this sentence: "Given the way Valisystem A shifted between first draft and VALIS, [Owl] could have borne no resemblance to any of the notes." Hence, this article is either misleading or badly written, and should be radically restructured.--James.kerans (talk) 16:57, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Movie[edit]

Is there anything anyone can cite at all from any official or even semi-official source (other than imdb.com) about the supposed movie being made? Worloq 04:53, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
