Ohio State?[edit]

Theres absolutely no actual proof about it being Ohio, no references for several loose arguements. I could just as easily state it's Alabama, Scarlet Wave is practically the same as Red Tide. 174.112.18.193 (talk) 09:22, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Of course it's a parody/takeoff on Ohio State and all other midwest state football schools by extension. There's no doubt about it. Thurber and Nugent were both OSU alums and the many references are too close to ignore. But you are right about that section being unsourced.
