Shouldn't this be listed as a TV Show, as it's standard with all other Wiki entries on TV shows? (I.E. "The League (TV Show)")?

Yeah probably.

{{movereq|The League (TV series)}}

Requested move[edit]

The LeagueThe League (TV series) — Since "The league" already has a disambiguation page, it should be specified in the title of this page. Mwn3d (talk) 19:49, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. This is by far the primary use of "The League". It's received 50,000 hits since its creation less than a month ago. The only other possible claimants to the title, The League (Internet) and The LEAGUE (nonprofit), have been averaging a few hundred hits per month. All this article needs is a hatnote to the dab page, which I've just created. Station1 (talk) 06:35, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment just because it's had 50k hits is meaningless, since people could be searching for other things and just happen to have hit this page instead. 76.66.197.2 (talk) 04:30, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      • Not at all. Prior to 23 October, The League (Internet) was at the title The League and was averaging several hundred hits per month, with a September high of 1414. The TV show debuted on 29 October and the new article at The League got 1500 hits in one day. The next day it got 8100 hits, and every day after that got from 1300 to 8300 hits. That's no coincidence. 98% (literally) of people landing here are looking for the TV show. Station1 (talk) 01:23, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
        • Agree The majority of people searching for "The League" are looking for this page, This should be the primary destination for "The League" and have a dab notice at the top. Dflav1138 (talk) 02:49, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support and then redirect to the dab page, as "The League" could refer to any league. 76.66.197.2 (talk) 04:32, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support It can't be said that this article is the hands down primary topic so the move is appropriate, as per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. I don't see the harm in adding the (TV series), it's common practice for any television shows that may cause ambiguity on wikipedia. IMO its best to stick to the side of caution on this one. --Labattblueboy (talk) 21:10, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't understand how it can't be said this is the hands down primary topic when 50-60,000 readers per month are looking for this topic and maybe 1,000 for something else. This may be the most clear cut case I've seen. The harm is not in adding "TV series" but in directing many thousands of people per month to a dab page where they don't want or need to be. Real life league[edit]

Does a one sentence entry really need it's own section in the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.224.214.171 (talk) 02:28, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation?[edit]

At the top of this page it says "for other uses, see league", but you have to go through the dab page to get to this page. Maybe since this is the main use of the term league at this time, we should have the league automatically take you here and leave the dab option at the top. And if we don't do that, at least take out the dab link at the top of this page, because it seems a bit unnecessary to keep people going through a circle of links. Dflav1138 (talk) 07:50, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The hatnote needs to be there for those people looking for The League (Internet) or The LEAGUE (nonprofit), which are listed on the dab page named "league". If you type or link to "The League" you should get here directly. Only if you type just "league" will you wind up on the dab page. Station1 (talk) 19:06, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ummm on what planet was the Shiva named after her for her academic accomplishments? lol — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.127.133.250 (talk) 07:22, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rafi's entry[edit]

Why is the main part of Rafi's entry about get rich quick schemes? That has (Almost) nothing to do with his character at all. This is especially true since the only example of this in both the wiki and the show itself is the porno shot at Andre's. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.11.55.60 (talk) 10:16, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Meeghan character[edit]

Under the description of the character "Meeghan", it was stated that when she divorced Pete she had gotten only "the house and a Benjamin Button DVD". In fact, in the episode "Mr. McGibblets" Pete reveals to Kevin that he and Meeghan had made a "sex tape", which is really a disk he had hidden in the case for the "Benjamin Button" DVD because, as Kevin readily acknowledges, it's obviously the last place anyone would ever look, because no one in their right mind would waste three hours watching "Benjamin Button". Pete wants it back, so he and Kevin sneak into Meeghan's house and retrieve it. Later, she specifically requests that Pete give her the Benjamin Button DVD. It's clear that she wants it because she remembers it has their sex video in it, because otherwise why would she only request this one particularly dull DVD? But Pete does not return it.

I corrected the description to reflect that Meeghan in fact did NOT get the Benjamin Button DVD, and explained why. Jefferson1957 (talk) 07:24, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Page Title[edit]

This is discussed in a locked section at the top of this page, but I wanted to say that I was confused because when I got the "instant" search results for "The League" the page for the TV show didn't include "US TV series" or similar in the title as I expected from every other TV show page I've ever seen on WP. I think it's fine if searching for "The League" brings up this page, but the page should be called "The League (TV series)" at the top so the user knows which instant search result to click on. Jefferson1957 (talk) 07:29, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think this page should be renamed "The League (TV show)", and that "The League" should redirect here. That way people looking for this page, which by all accounts makes up the vast majority of people looking for pages named "The League", can still find it under just "The League", but it can also include the dab page link at the top, and if there ever become a more popular "The League", this doesn't have to be renamed, the redirect can just be modified to the new "The League" or to the dab page, and the title will be come more descriptive, since to many users (like the one above me) the title could be confusing, especially if they are unaware that there is a TV show named "The League". Lpreams (talk) 09:02, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You're making a problem to fit a solution; the move is not needed. The person you are responding to had this query more than two and a half years ago. There is no other use of the word "league" with the definite article in the title... No British series, no film, no album, no band name... Just a barely notable web series that will never be a primary topic and La Liga which some might search for in English, but the common English term for the Spanish soccer league is almost always kept in Spanish and never translated. There is no issue and no reason to move just for moving's sake. JesseRafe (talk) 14:31, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • The web series is not only barely notable, but in fact has had a GNG notice on it since September 2009 and doesn't have a single outbound link on it that is not dead in August 2016. I would guess very few people not directly related to anyone who produced that web series would ever be searching for it. JesseRafe (talk) 14:51, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with The Shiva[edit]

The page The Shiva is a table of fictional events. If it belongs anywhere on enwiki, I'd say it belongs in The League, not in a separate page. QVVERTYVS (hm?) 14:04, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The merge was boldly carried out by User:Deunanknute on 23 January. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 22:55, 1 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
