Hello my name is Hannah and my partner is Katy, we are students at the University of Hull, and we have been set an assignment which involves us creating an article on Wikipedia, so please bare with us as we are very new to this and we're doing our best. Anyone who is willing to give us a hand with editing and how to display things correctly on the page we would be really grateful.

Thanks Again

OK[edit]

You need to look at WP:GNG and WP:RS. That's general notability (or something like that) and reliable sources. You may find your article disappears - if it does, re-create it by going to your userpage, typing in your userpage name and a new page name (as in user:clarencetheduck/billyisanidiot). Obviously, don't use that one... Then save and click the red link - this will give you a subpage which is safer than going straight into mainspace. Head it DRAFT (or if you're feeling cold DRAUGHT). Then start again. Contact me if there's anything you don't understand. I'll put this on your talk page in case this goes. BTW - sign with four ~ thingies - that puts your name and the date. Hi this is katy just to let users know the information i have put up as of now, is still in the edditing stage and needs to be set out properly and most likely cited and linked in the appropiate manner, please have pations with me and indeed if anyone would like to offer help and advise it would be greatly appriciated. Thankyou katycrowther (talk) 00.49 28 october 2010

why is it that the bot destoryed everthing I did and because of one unused email address yet not my partners work. I worked really hard on all of that and was gutted when i had to do it again, lucky i had it saved elsewhere. Please explain and is there a quickedr way to redo what they messed up for future reference. Thanks! H Jones (talk) 20:41, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It looks as if you've found a way round the bot, so I'm removing your {{helpme}}. See Help:Page history and Help:Undo for ways to recover the work that the bot removed. Feel free to ask more questions if you need to. -- John of Reading (talk) 21:57, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Inserting Images[edit]

Hi there its katy here, I would just like to ask users if at all they could express to me how i would go about adding an image to the hamnet players. it is an image on their actuall website at http://www.hambule.co.uk/hamnet/ and the image is this http://www.hambule.co.uk/hamnet/hand.jpg. Any help would be greatly appriciated, as i have ventured into the wiki help padges on the topic and couldnt understand fully.

thankyou again katycrowther (talk) 12.39, 1 november 2010 —Preceding undated comment added 12:40, 1 November 2010 (UTC).[reply]

This image would run into problems with copyright, as I do not think you would be able to claim fair use for the image in this article. The project would need to see evidence that the Hamnet players have given up their copyright before the image could be used here - someone associated with the Hamnet players would need to read, understand, and act on the instructions at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. -- John of Reading (talk) 13:02, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and next time please add a {{helpme}}. I doubt if many editors are watching this article, so you need to add the template to draw attention to your question. -- John of Reading (talk) 13:05, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thankyou for the information and i will remember the help me next time. katycrowther (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:31, 1 November 2010 (UTC).[reply]
