Merger of Books[edit]

I have been unhappy at the state of the Elenium articles, the main page and all three seperate book articles were all very weak and only stub status. So as has been done with the Begariad, I have merged the seperate books into the main Elenium article, this is with a view that at some point in the future when alot more work has been put into them that the seperate books will be good enough for thier own article again. In it's current state I believe this is the better option, obviously it still needs work, like the Sapphire Rose section which needs writting but its a start. Please feel free to discuss your views on this and the extra material I have added. Death Eater Dan (Muahaha) 08:30, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Expanding the articles[edit]

In response to QmunkE's question on my talk page I think Races in the Elenium does not need to be moved just brought inline and reformatted to match the other David Eddings Races article - Races in The Belgariad, which I think is well presented and informative.

Also inkeeping with using the Belgariad articles as a standard to try and keep continuity in all the David Eddings articles, we need to create a Deities in The Elenium article and slit that section off this article, this could also incorporate the Aphrael and Azash articles (see - Deities in The Belgariad)

Another section I think we need to expand is the Countries in The Elenium, alot of the articles mention the various countries but do not follow it up with info, so to someone who has not read the books it is just a made up country which means nothing to them. So rather than having an article for each country like in the Belgariad articles, I think just have one article - Countries in The Elenium due to there being less of them and arguably less information to include than the Belgariad countries.

So to summarise, I think for a stronger/better group of articles on the Elenium and Tamuli series of books we need to work on;

Main articles

  • The Elenium (With all three seperate book stubs merged into it) - done
  • The Tamuli (With all three seperate book stubs merged into it)

Info & background (With a forwarding note in each one saying that this information is correct for both The Elenium and The Tamuli)

Characters

What does everyone think?? Death Eater Dan (Muahaha) 10:44, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've started writing a "Characters of The Elenium and The Tamuli" article at User:QmunkE/Sandbox. Any input would be greatly appreciated. QmunkE 15:48, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've created the page List of characters in The Elenium and The Tamuli. The article currently links to the "main articles" for the principle characters - however they are currently all stubs. Unless anyone has any major objections I'll merge and redirect them on 16 April (probably). QmunkE 20:15, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There seems to me to be no reason to create a separate article for the deities now that QmunkE has created a list of characters, but I agree that there should be a list of countries - I'll create that in a few days (hopefully). With regard to this article, I've added links to the pages with lists of knight orders and to The Tamuli article.
The current separate articles for Sparhawk, Ehlana, etc. are very messy; I suggest that, unless the articles are stubs (e.g. Ehlana and Sephrenia, which can easily be included on the main character list), the original separate articles are kept, with a brief summary and a link to them on the characters page, and another link to the list in the main article. Unless anything's posted here (or on the characters page) before 22 July, I'll do that to them. I'll put merge boilerplates on the relevent articles tomorrow. Time3000 16 July 2006

I have now created a List of Countries in The Elenium and The Tamuli, although it is so far very incomplete - any additions would be greatly appreciated. There is also a redirect page to it at Countries in The Elenium. Time3000 18:46, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Diamond Throne.jpg[edit]

Image:Diamond Throne.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
