Ratings[edit]

---Another Believer (Talk) 22:11, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No reason for separate articles for the two specials, at least at this point. The leads are already extremely similar. The only different information in the articles is who appeared and who performed. Can easily fit in one article. JDDJS (talk to mesee what I've done) 23:23, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Weak oppose. If there's sourcing to create "Reception" sections (essentially, commentary on the various performances) and add ratings details, I could see value in keeping the articles separate. ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:30, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
But there's currently not a reception section. And even if there was, it could still be included without making the article too long. Saturday Night Live at Home is for three separate episodes, and includes reception for each individual episode, and is not too long. JDDJS, Curious, do you propose merging The Disney Holiday Singalong as well? Just want to clarify if editors are discussing the merge of 2 or 3 entries. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:18, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I do think that should be merged here. JDDJS (talk to mesee what I've done) 21:58, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
checkY Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 07:40, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Klbrain, I've reverted. Your edit summaries suggest there has been no opposition to the merge, which is not true. I think these entries should be expanded with Reception sections, ratings information, etc. More discussion is needed here otherwise the merge seems to go against consensus. I've posted neutral requests for editor feedback at WikiProject Disney and WikiProject Television. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:05, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about the imprecision of my edit summaries on those merges. I had thought that you had had acquiesced given JDDJS's comments, given your silence since November. Happy to hear other views, mine being that reason for the merge was a rather obvious case of the joint page having the advantage of better context. Klbrain (talk) 14:45, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for allowing further discussion. For the record, I'd still prefer to see these entries expanded, not merged. ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:47, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge make this article like a "main" article, and consider each as a "season" with subsections. There's too much similarity (and sparseness at the other articles) that these shouldn't really be separate articles. If a good amount of work can be done to expand (but these are over a year old), then keep, but that appears unlikely. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:01, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not opposed to the entries being expanded on. However, in their current state, there is really no benefit to having separate articles. Also, even merged, we can still add individual information to each one, like at Saturday Night Live at Home. I could be wrong, but I just don't believe that these sing-alongs got enough individual coverage to really expand them significantly. JDDJS (talk to mesee what I've done) 15:09, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think the articles are more likely to be expanded if kept separate. Each needs Broadcast and Reception sections. Each have had critical commentary about specific performances. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:13, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@User:Another Believer Your point would be much more valid if these were new articles. However, it's been over a year, and they have not been expanded. It's really not that likely that editors would suddenly start expanding it now, and even if they did, there's no evidence to suggest that it being one combined article would detour them from doing so. And again, individual information about broadcast and reception can still be added after a merger. Again, look at the article Saturday Night Live at Home. I would argue that each individual episode of that got more coverage then all 3 of the sing-alongs did combined. And yet, it exists at one article. JDDJS (talk to mesee what I've done) 16:53, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
We're going around in circles here and I think we just have to agree to disagree and let other editors weigh in. Wikipedia has thousands of stubs which have gone unexpanded for years. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:58, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge – a single article is the stronger choice in terms of content available and the relatedness of the topics. Favre1fan93's approach makes sense. —Joeyconnick (talk) 18:57, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge these all are indeed quite alike in nature, and we can easily have sections for each installment. Perhaps The Jimmy Timmy Power Hour (another trilogy contained on page where each entry has a common overarching theme) could serve as a basis for how to structure that. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 19:51, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Given that the consensus seems to be in favor of the merge, merge re-instated;   checkY Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 21:58, 4 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Queen Family Singalong[edit]

@JDDJS, Klbrain, Favre1fan93, Joeyconnick, and SNUGGUMS: Some articles were merged, but should The Queen Family Singalong be merged, too? Curious what you all think, ---Another Believer (Talk) 12:25, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
