Spoilers[edit]

Should some of this be flagged as having spoiler content for the plot? I'm playing the game right now and couldn't read past the first paragraph without finding spoilers.

By definition, a spoiler must spoil the gameplay by giving away key secrets before the player gets to learn them. There is nothing in the article that isn't on the box. Please note what it is that you feel is a spoiler. --Kainaw ^(talk) 23:09, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Classic Bard's Tale Rights[edit]

If you've played their 2004 Bard's Tale game, you'll know that absolutely nothing from the classic 80s games makes an appearance -- this is because InExile Entertainment does not have, and has never had, any rights to the classic Bard's Tale trademarks, and cannot use any characters, settings, or plot from the original games.

From an interview on GameBanshee with Eric Flannum, lead designer of their Bard's Tale game:

GameBanshee: "Do you plan on including any references within the storyline or dialogue in the game that will refer to characters, locations, or even major enemies from the original Bard's Tale games?"

Eric Flannum: "We don’t have the rights to the content of the original series so we don’t carry over any elements directly from the first game. However, we do parody or make reference to a lot of classic RPG elements and situations. We also drew a lot of our inspiration from the Orkney Islands (Skara Brae, the setting of the first game is in the Orkney Islands and Scottish folklore and mythology.)"

Wait so this page is about the game 'The Bard's Tale', without mentioning the popular Bards Tale series of games from the 1980s? and it has absolutely nothing to do with the 80s game? There should at least be a disambiguation page. I want to read about Serpent's Snare, The Old Man, Skara Brae, geomancers, soulsuckers, the whole works.

Music[edit]

Do we need to add something about music and dancing zombies in the spoof / mocking section? It's pretty much a unique feature of this game to have such fantastic music and highly amusing songs. PS2 disc easter egg?[edit]

On the PS2 version, the disc has the text "For a Really Disturbing Image - Flip Disc Over", and should players attempt this, they will be met with a mirror image of themselves. Perhaps this could be mentioned as an example of the game's humor? MightyArms (talk) 23:44, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
