The Authority (professional wrestling)[edit]

I don't know why but someone keep changing the number of Orton's wwe/wwe world heavyweight championships to 1. I change it to 2 times because he won the first at summerslam and the second at hell in a cell. Am I wrong? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.182.107.205 (talk) 18:33, 24 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I just created a new article entitled "The Authority (professional wrestling)" but I'm going to need some more help on the article. Could somebody please help me? Thanks, I really appreciate it! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cyhh2002 (talkcontribs) 23:30, 16 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So far the biggest problem with the various "Authority" articles we've had is that there haven't been any reliable sources or citations that allow it to pass WP:GNG. I'd request that a full version is created in a sandbox before being introduced here. — Richard BB 23:52, 16 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Could Batista be considered a member of the Authority — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.102.34.219 (talk) 06:06, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not without sources, or at least verbal confirmation on WWE programming. Batista nor The Authority said he's part of the faction, he's merely teaming up with Randy Orton at this point. Antoshi 14:45, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Since Batista won the Royal Rumbe, ostensibly as a member of the authority shouldnt his royal rumble win count as an accomplishment? also so should NAO tag title win, which definitely occurred as members of the authority2604:2000:5580:EB00:222:41FF:FE20:475F (talk) 19:24, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Vince McMahon[edit]

Isn't Vince McMahon a member too?PeterMan844 (talk) 08:06, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

We've never found any sources to support that.LM2000 (talk) 08:43, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think he was sort of like a member for one night. It's hard to say, being that he never appears on TV these days. I think he should rightfully be left off the list of members until he resurfaces.PeterMan844 (talk) 06:11, 29 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think he is a member being that he came out and congratulated Orton when he beat Cena for the unified title with Steph and HHH2604:2000:5580:EB00:222:41FF:FE20:475F (talk) 19:25, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

According to Michael Cole, the Authority is...[edit]

From the official WWE YouTube channel, here is a video from the March 21 SmackDown. The video depicts DOO Kane and the New Age Outlaws attacking the Shield. Go to 3:35, Cole says... only one thing that Kane and the NAO have in common, and that's the Authority! Triple H and Stephanie. So on-air the Authority still refers to the power couple, it's just that WWE.com sorta created an expanded stable. starship.paint (talk | ctrb) 05:06, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Members[edit]

WWE referee Scott Armstrong is also a member — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maner76 (talkcontribs) 02:37, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No. Not really. He's just somebody they manipulated into doing their dirty work.PeterMan844 (talk) 01:51, 29 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think Batista is also a member of the Authority, as Orton. --79.166.105.161 (talk) 14:02, 6 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Picture caption under "Formation and Triple H's regime; Champion of Champions (2013-2014)" has "authority" misspelled.

It reads: Triple H and Stephanie McMahon created The Autority.

Typo should be corrected. 99.240.246.228 (talk) 21:02, 6 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bryan stripped of World Championship[edit]

It's been confirmed that Daniel Bryan is no longer WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and now the vacant championship is the prize at Money in the Bank (2014). I added this in, so why was it removed? Bryan is not going to defend it against Kane. Jedi Striker (talk) 14:49, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Concept of the Authority[edit]

Since the stable formed, I think Triple H/Steph who is leader is "the past", Orton "the Present" and Rollins "the future". I believe its loosely based on Evolution, DX, Corporation, and McMahon-Helmsley Era. Anyone is welcomed for your feedback. Wrestlingring (talk) 21:53, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like original search. Even for a concept section, you have to prove it with sources. WWE wrote an article about Authority and Corporation, so it's a source. But Evolution, no clue. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 23:51, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, It's more sightly loose partially based on Evolution such as this one. Wrestlingring (talk) 23:59, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Members[edit]

I believe that Batista is definitely a member of the authority. When he came back, he was immediately buddy buddy with Triple H, and was an active participant in their feuds with Daniel Bryan and the Shield. as such he should be a member and his Royal Rumble win should count as an accomplishment.

Also Nikki Bella is now a member due to her association with Stephanie McMahon. As is Brad Maddox because he was essentially their lap dog during his time as Assistant and Head Raw GM2604:2000:5580:EB00:4D97:8AF9:12BB:2CAE (talk) 15:38, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification on Nikki Bella[edit]

Anyone confirm if Nikki Bella is apart of The Authority? The template here isn't listed or doesn't say it yet. Wrestlingring (talk) 03:16, 21 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing how Stephanie has participated in segments supporting Nikki as well as giving her a title match and giving her permission to put Brie in handicap matches. I would say so. --Miss X-Factor (talk) 00:08, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of The Authority (professional wrestling)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Jamie Noble & Joey Mercury[edit]

Unless anyone can argue against it, I am planning on adding these two former active wrestlers to The Authority's roster, as the September 29th episode of Raw added them to the group as Triple H's lackeys and had them working with the group throughout the episode's plot. There has been significant social media attention comparing them to the "Stooges", Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson, in Vince McMahon's former stable The Corporation. 24.85.113.197 (talk) 01:16, 30 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Brad Maddox and Vickie Guerrero were also lackey-ish and not in the article, hmm? starship.paint ~ regal 04:08, 1 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cesaro and Ryback?[edit]

Was Ryback actually really a member since he was only a member for like 3 seconds? And would we classify Cesaro as a member since he turned on Cena to be with team Authority?

Scott Armstrong?[edit]

I suggest adding him to the authority, since they have used him many times.

Theme song ending date should not be "present", but instead 2014 since The Authority is no longer active. 65.24.40.85 (talk) 14:47, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

While it's true that he turned his back on Cena that night he could not have been a member of The Authority since that date since the group was disbanded until December the 29th.--67.68.161.176 (talk) 01:05, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Doesnt that kind of contradict though? The group was still active when he turned on Cena in what was a pre-planned attack, meaning he had joined on that date or previously. That the group subsequently became inactive is irrelevant. If you start work at a company and mid-way through that day the company goes under, you still worked for that company. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 145.8.104.65 (talk) 11:37, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Big Show membership[edit]

Based on Kane's comment tonight, Big Show is still considered an "extended" member of the authority. I'm not sure when he re-join but we should list him as a member now since he hasn't left.

What happend 26 April 2015 to count him out? Ranze (talk) 00:15, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lana[edit]

Shouldn't Lana be apart of the current members with the inclusion of Zeb?

New Members Removed from page[edit]

What the fuck happened to the new members? It should be Sheamus, Rusev, King Barrett, Alberto Del Rio, Zeb Colter, and Lana.

League of Nations[edit]

Shouldn't the league of nations be considered a sub stable of the Authority (similar to the way the New Age Outlaws, Evolution, and Shield have been in the past)? Sheamus won the title with assistance from the Authority and they supported him initially by throwing celebrations for him. They were also Vince's muscle at the Royal Rumble.
