This is an excellent page. Congratulations. I have added a small box at the bottom to tie in with the Wests Tigers coaches. --Cyclone James 08:09, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow. Congrats to the people that wrote this! Forever young 07:02, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For a more unbiased view of Lamb the article needs more mention of his dirty play throughout his career. The Hanley incident was hardly the end of it.

Images[edit]

Someone has to work out the copyright status of those images. I'm thinking they probably should not be there...They look great however. Forever young 07:03, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The discussion of the Churchill award going to "ARL aligned" Jim Dymock is but one example of the shocking POV in this article. It needs to be cleaned up.

Definitely agreed, it's been fixed. Also the following POVs are also changed:
    • where they (Wests Tigers) blew $8million in players that were washed up and not part of the future Lamb was hoping to plan.
    • It wasn't the right time for Lamb to be coach and despite the promise he showed at Canterbury, it was still too soon after his playing days and he has never been forgiven by the Balmain side of the joint venture for the Ellery Hanley incident.
    • Canterbury is the only club where its officials and fans will fully appreciate his value and dedication.--58.106.16.48 11:42, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Where to start ?[edit]

This article is still a shocker. Gushy, full of opinion and weasels, complete absence of citations. Whenever I look at it I never know where to even start to fix it ....but maybe one day. maybe -Sticks66 10:57, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I visited here just a few days ago - but I lost heart and left without editing. There are so many articles to fix and I never really liked Baa as a player, so... Florrieleave a note 14:36, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Lamb formed a great scrumbase combination that season with Alan Neil (brother of Michael Neil) and Lamb showed hope to Wests fans that life after Tommy Raudonikis would be good." "The 19-year-old Lamb acquitted himself well despite the brutal mauling he copped from Wally Lewis" "..ensured that he would be in hot demand from the richer Sydney clubs" "Lamb settled nicely into Canterbury under the coaching of Warren Ryan.." "Lamb's best year was most likely in 1986 where he achieved everything except land a 38 m penalty goal attempt" "The incident to this day sparks heated and emotional debate and the incident ensured Lamb's time as coach of the Wests Tigers (half owned by Balmain) would never be a smooth one from the outset." "the Blues going down 36-6 in what was arguably Queensland's greatest ever side." "The arrival of Anderson despite Gould's admiration for Lamb was to be the best thing to happen..." "The Bulldogs started like a house on fire under new captain Lamb. They faltered away mid-season when injuries including Lamb being out for four matches along with players deciding on their futures caused havoc."

Some of the sentences which really could do with a re-write. Does anyone have any thoughts on a vast re-write of this? It would be a shame to lose some of the information but so much of it seem to be opinion, and/or unsourced. Heywoodg 21:52, 24 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Don't you think it might be good if the section titled "Hanley incident and the World Cup" featured at least some mention of the Hanley incident or the World Cup? This page doesn't even mention that the Bulldogs won the premiership in 1988! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:8003:5322:8100:1898:FA0B:2CC:CE66 (talk) 04:59, 8 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

349 or 350?[edit]

[page] says that he played 350 games, not 349. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Is it worth updating Lamb's stats to 250 based on this, or perhaps just writing a paragraph on it? Heywoodg talk 12:18, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm the creator of Rugby League Tables, which that article calls Stats.Rleague.com. My view is that his 261 was altered to 262 because of a change in attitude about replacements (which Lamb was in Round 1, 1986) - they now count as a full first grade game. But the 18 Wests games dropping to 17 will remain a mystery unless someone official weighs in about which game it was. The RLW of 1980 lists in their summary 18 games, and also 18 in the individual games lists. The only fuzziness is R21, where an A.Lamb played 5/8, but this is surely just a typo. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.198.118.84 (talk) 11:56, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that, very interesting. I wonder if that typo is the cause then? It would be great if the NRL would comment at some point. If they do, I probably won't see it since I live in the UK now, but feel free to drop in they do :) Cheers Heywoodg talk 12:04, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm the Rugby League Project guy. I just thought I'd add to this that after contact with Canterbury, Terry Lamb's total appearances for the Bulldogs have today been adjusted from 261 to 262 in total (refer [[1]]. Wests Archives, among numerous other sources, also confirm that he played 88 games at Wests. I should add that this anomaly originally came from the efforts of the creator of the RL Tables website.
