About Ted Knight and MTM show

About midway through the 4th? season of Mary Tyler Moore show there was a episode where Ted Baxter leaves WJM to try out as a host of a New York City TV Game Show. Was Ted Kinght getting tired of playing Ted Baxter typecast and thinking of leaving MTM?

I cannot answer your question. As best as I know, it was just the plot of a single episode. The timing of the episode's production/telecast and the alledged complaints of typecasting by Knight appear to be coincidental.72.82.175.2 22:34, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Military Decotations

I was not aware that Ted Knight was a decorated WWII soldier. My research doesn't turn up his name. Am I wrong or should this be changed? Larrycroft (talk) 02:45, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Although Knight's service during World War II certainly deserves recognition, I believe the stories of his exploits in that war are apocryphal. I think his five battle stars are sometimes mistakenly mis-reported as bronze stars, which would make him perhaps the most highly decorated soldier ever. Several months ago, I edited this section to contain only factual information about his service. (See this revision.) —xanderer (talk) 14:56, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

British politician

I question whether this person is a lot more important than the British politician of the same name. Should this page be turned into a disambiguation? Also, that is a dreadful photo, it makes him look demented. PatGallacher (talk) 00:09, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Really, I agree—isn't a better photo available? SomeAvailableName (talk) 07:33, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

What about his off-screen personality?

I think this article would be greatly enhanced by a section on Ted Knight's off-screen personality. He often played grumpy or pompous characters, but I understand he was quite the opposite in real life. I saw a reunion of the cast of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" some years ago. Ted Knight was the only member of the cast who was missing because he had already died by this time. They spent a little time reminiscing about him, and they obviously thought well of him. Gavin MacLeod described him as "magic", which was quite interesting since the characters they played were so antagonistic toward each other.97.73.64.164 (talk) 17:21, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Ted KnightTed Knight (actor) — The US actor does not appear to be much more important than the British politician, who was a fairly important figure in British poltical life in the 1980s. Beware of systemic bias in favour of the US and popular culture, see WP:BIAS. PatGallacher (talk) 19:02, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

William Woodson

I thought he had the signature line, "Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice..." Mr Woodson used this line in the "Challenge of the Superfriends", I believe. Correct??

What did he do to earn his war medals?

Too often, such bios touch on a war record only briefly, yet go on and on and on and on about what commercials they did, etc. So, what did Mr. Knight do to earn such medals? Toothis (talk) 20:01, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

I wish Wikipedia would change his main picture.

I wish Wikipedia would change Ted's picture to a better picture with his hair combed. That picture with his hair not combed, I believe, was from just one episode of the Mary Tyler Moore Show. Throughout the Mary Tyler Moore Show and Too Close For Comfort, he had his hair combed. And... even on the "Dean Martin Roast of Ted Knight" (it's on YouTube), his hair is combed.
