Discography[edit]

There's also Roy Goodman on Helios (with 71 and 72) and Simon Rattle on EMI (with 60 and 90)... as well as the Fischer and Dorati cycles. A decent source for what's in print is arkivmusic (e.g. [1]). (Note that the Fey release in only in Europe so does not make the list). Is it worth it to do a discography section for each symphony? DavidRF (talk) 00:38, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"while technically in D minor it can be taken as D major "[edit]

(referring to the conclusion of the symphony) Indeed it is not. In itself, it is neither in major nor minor, as it consists entirely of the tonic note in octaves. The immediately preceding passage, the last one identifiable as to mode, is in D major (which is also the key signature). The symphony therefore technically ends in D major.
