Explained Difference between the Two Supreme Courts of the Northwest Territories[edit]

The article previously stated that the Supreme Court was dormant for fifty years after the creation of the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan. That's not correct - the first Supreme Court was abolished, for the NWT in 1905 and for the two provinces in 1907. I've clarified that there were actually two different Supreme Courts, at different times in the history of the NWT. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 14:21, 27 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Stylistic Point: "North-West Territories" and "Northwest Territories"[edit]

The name of the Territories has varied over time. The federal Act which created the NWT originally used the term "North-West", but early in the 20th century, the term "Northwest" was substituted. I've used "North-West" when referring to the Territories prior to the creation of Alberta and Saskatchewan; don't know if there's an accepted stylistic convention on this point, but I personally prefer to use the term that was used at the relevant period.
