This statement is incorrect:
- In some years prior to 1969, the SS was considered its own car model, even though it was based on a car already in production. For example, the 1968 SS396 was considered its own model, not a Chevelle.
The article SS396 is recommended for deletion.

Grille[edit]
The grille looks reminiscent of a 1970 Camaro. Would love to have this built as a new Chevelle.
True super sport or CLONES?[edit]
i feel that many of the readers and owners of classic cars are not aware of the knock off, when they buy or own a super sport car... how can they tell , and know when they have a true Super Sport, and when they get a clone.
what is there to look for in a true SS , and that Clones are just for looks.
Displacement of LSx motors[edit]
Its calculated from rounded litre displacement numbers.

Holden's SS[edit]
Holden's SS models stand for "Sports Sedan" not "Super Sports". The Chevrolet SS is possibly supposed to stand for "Sports Sedan" too as it is a rebadged Holden Commodore SS.
1963 and Corvair SS[edit]
Just for info, an email a friend sent me had a 2-min 1963 Chevrolet commercial video attachment which says "four different kinds of Supe Sport garble(cars?)", followed by short promos for
- "Corvair Monza Convertible with the extra cost Spyder option; just right for the sports car fan who is a family man, with a turbo-supercharged 150hp rear engine The Spyder is available on the Monza Convertible and Monza Club Coupe."
- "Chevy II Nova Super Sport. ..."
- "Jet smooth Chevrolet, with the extra-cost extra-glamor Super Sport option" (I presume in several models), ... Impala Super Sport with optional Turbo-Fire 409, with 340hp
- Corvette StingRay, available for the first time in two models -- coupe and convertible (I see that the coupe is split-window)
The quotes above are rough -- maybe not exact. What caught my attention is that I see no mention of Corvairs in this article.
