Song at the end of episode 1..?[edit]

At the end of the first episode, a Pavarotti song is played. Does anyone know what it's called.? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.240.129.75 (talkcontribs) 00:02, October 8, 2008

It's called 'Caruso' —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.148.231.90 (talk) 18:31, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Co-writer of Royle Family[edit]

The current intro kind of suggests that Phil Mealey co-wrote The Royle Family with Craig Cash. Can someone suggest a rewrite? JonStrines (talk) 10:36, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Technically they are co-authors of the Royle Family as they have written the next special together but I see the point. So something like: "It stars Steve Coogan, with support from Cash and Mealey, who previously wrote and appeared in Early Doors"? Perhaps start a.. production background section to go into more of the history of their collaborations. Or just trim the lead right down and leave it up to other people to work out they previously worked on Early Doors together and Cash also wrote Royle Family, although it is good to get some solid background and it puts it in context (they are all northern comedies with a dash of tragedy). They discussed the background in more detail on Radio 4 the other week - 1st October Front Row but it doesn't seem to still be online (pity as you could previously download the MP3 for a while). Yeah, I think it's relevant that they were involved in the Royle Family and especially Early Doors. I'll have a think. JonStrines (talk) 10:28, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Location[edit]

Do we know where it's set? I was trying to recognise the buses ... almost-instinct 22:38, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was filmed around Mellor and Marple in Greater Manchester, but the program itself never said where it was set: from the name of the council on the side of the bin lorry, the setting was fictionalised. The buses were generally not the usual Stagecoach buses that run in the area, except as Bing and his Mrs leave the will reading and one passes their cars.
