Hi Bricks&Wood, and thanks for the article. I tagged the Critical reception section for having too much quoted material. It's hard to write a good reception section without quotes, but I feel that many parts of the quotes can be summarized. Happy to take a stab at it, but I figured I'd mention it first in case you'd like to take a first pass at shortening. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 17:16, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey @Firefangledfeathers, thanks for the heads up! I'm thrilled that you'd like to take a stab at it! I'm great at research and documentation, but always have trouble with the Critical Reception sections. What I tried to do is include as many of the review articles as possible within the section, either by including quotes, or by using them as citations for the genres or similar bands (I made sure that each review was used at least once by citation).
I also documented all of the album's reviews (that I could find) on MusicBrainz. It might be of help if you're thinking of starting that section from scratch, and need the original reviews from which to work.
So ya, really glad to have your help on this! Bricks&Woodtalk 12:16, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Happy to help! I'm about halfway through. I'm just shortening the already quoted material, so please review to make sure I'm not dropping something you think is vital. I'm guessing you have a better sense of which reviewers and publications are bigger players in this scene. Do you think we could cut two or three of the less prominent reviews? @Firefangledfeathers I appreciate what you're doing to improve the article! As far as removing some fully, I'll leave it up to what you think. Perhaps some of the ones from the last two paragraphs, with the exception of No Clean Singing, which is a pretty noteworthy online magazine in that genre. But they all say good things about the release, so it's hard for me to make up my mind on what could be removed. Bricks&Woodtalk 08:34, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Done, and I removed the tag. I encourage you to give the section a review to make sure I didn't leave a mess. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 13:29, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Firefangledfeathers It looks great to me! You did a great job condensing it. Would I be imposing if I asked you to help out with their first full-length album, Fragments of Uniforms? That one is also pending review, even though it was created before Sunless. Bricks&Woodtalk 15:53, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Bricks&Wood. I can take a look soon, but I have a few other plates spinning. Another new page patroller might beat me to it. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 04:30, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
