Opening heading[edit]

Why is this article tagged for deletion? The man who developed this theory is real, his theory has been tested, and several of his books are available for purchase on Amazon.com. Wikipedia will maintain extensive pages on celebrities who contribute nothing to the greater good but seeks to delete biographical stubs about psychologists whose theories have genuinely helped people? Issues with article[edit]

ad "as well as related stories in the popular media around the world including ... German magazine Emotion" I'm from Germany and have never heard of this magazine. Apparently it's a small women's magazine started about 5 years ago with a circulation of about 60000 (less than one tenth of the leading women's magazine in Germany). March 2022[edit]

I restored this content to the article: "Hayes' work is somewhat controversial, particularly with his coined term "relational frame theory" to describe stimulus equivalence research in relation to an elaborate form of B.F. Skinner's Verbal Behavior (also referred to as verbal operants)." This statement was cited to the Cloud article in Time Magazine. However I cannot verify that right now as it is offline at this time. @ Laurapurcell3 stated, "I deleted poorly sourced material that is potentially libellous. The deleted information was false." You're right in that the Time piece makes no reference either. However a page at Positive Psychology does support Hayes using "relational frame theory" in relation to Skinner's work. I didn't see how this, as @Laurapurce113 described it, as libellous. If anything the Cloud article in Time describing him "..as more mystagogue than scientist..." would be more of a problem. Past and possible COI issues[edit]

Hayes was an active editor in the past and was confronted (by me) for COI issues at Talk:Acceptance and commitment therapy § Recent edits by User:Stevenchayes. If the new editor Laurapurcell3 who has been editing this article recently is Hayes or one of his friends or family members then they should disclose their COI as explained at WP:DISCLOSE and follow the principles at WP:COIEDIT. I want to call attention to this issue again. The page has been edited several times, without proper citation, to downplay a controversy Hayes was involved in. I do not know if the edits are made by Hayes himself but they are all in the direction of removing, or not including citations, and removing allusions to conversion therapy even though the citations (which are to Hayes' signed statements and video apologies) clearly recognize his role in conversion therapy practices and research. 17:33, 30 August 2022 (UTC)

Every time this article is edited it is edited to make Prof. Hayes look better, even when it directly contradicts the citations.
