Date of birth[edit]

We show 28 October 1772. So does French WP, which also claims to have his birth certificate as the source, although I can't access it.

But many other places have 2 November 1773, including our very own Wikiquote. I'm not making any changes, as I tend to believe the French WP's version, but I'd like to know how this other date came about. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 21:27, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed Quotation[edit]

Grellet may be most notable for the quotation often attributed to him, although it is disputed: "I expect to pass through this world but once. If, therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do any fellow human being let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I will not pass this way again." Might be worth mentioning the quote and the dispute in the body. Moioci (talk) 19:05, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
