Edits[edit]

Hope who ever has been involved in this article does not find the new edits of personal offense as it seemed that there remained after whatever edits have ben made since the split between the 1987 play and the 1989 movie parts of on of significant content when if a separate article exists certainly a link should be provided with as brief text so that if more info is wanted the link can be used. That way, particularly with all the productions of SM one does not get confused since the location changes as well as what characters are included and who said what in which production.

I may be tempted to create an article on the 2012 production so that more can be included on it instead of as was said earlier of confusing the reader with multiple productions that are so closely related.A1Houseboy (talk) 09:18, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Moving Harling's background?[edit]

Could we move the 2nd paragraph about author Harling's background re: his sister's death from diabetes? It spoils the movie! Thank you! 2601:18A:C680:650:C23:EF9:B7AC:9A9 (talk) 20:13, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know; I feel like it's a basic "building block" (if you will) that belongs "above the fold." Just my opinion, thanks! 2601:18A:C680:650:3482:B7AB:6F44:FBDE (talk) 02:24, 12 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Town/parish[edit]

There seems to be a bit of confusion about the fictional "Chinquapin Parish" both in this article and elsewhere. It seems the film (which I have not seen) was a little loose about county/parish. In any case, being Louisiana, it is a parish, which is roughly equivalent to a county, and certainly (?) not a town. I assume the intention here was that the actual place was just an unincorporated part of the parish, hence distinctly rural. The article might note the location is fictional; I'll leave that to others. Bdushaw (talk) 21:16, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
