Track?[edit]

Is the name in the lead, Stansted Airport Track Transit System, correct or should it be Stansted Airport Transit System as per the title? Railwayfan2005 (talk) 21:18, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting. Perhaps "S. A. Transit System" is the common name, whereas BAA use "Track Transit System (TTS)" on their stuff[1][2]. —Sladen (talk) 01:24, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Stansted use 'Track Transit System' [3] Secretlady (talk) 04:27, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Track gauge[edit]

I've removed the unsourced track gauge from the infobox (it didn't appear elsewhere) because I have been completely unable to verify that given value of 2.8 m (9 ft 2 in) (or indeed any other value) is correct - everything that mentions track gauge can be traced back to Wikipedia. The photo in the article and others elsewhere don't suggest to me a gauge that wide either. The page history shows that it was added by Cnbrb along with the rest of the infobox but gives no clue where they sourced the information from. Thryduulf (talk) 10:45, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. I can't even remember myself! Cnbrb (talk) 11:30, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The photos indicate it's a monorail, presumably with ordinary wheels running on the concrete track either side, therefore it has no specific gauge. Voice of Clam (formerly Optimist on the run) (talk) 16:20, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what the standard is for measuring gauges of concrete trackways like that, so I can't offer any improved information. Just leave it blank. Oh, and it's not a monorail. Cnbrb (talk) 16:59, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Control system upgrade[edit]

In Special:Diff/911672327, have asked Neroravichandran to help provide a list of articles/whitepapers/links/trade-press coverage that can be used as citations. —Sladen (talk) 11:17, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Neroravichandran, what would also be useful is if there are any high-quality images that could be uploaded to commons:Special:UploadWizard and released under a Wikipedia-compatible licence for use on the articles to illustrate information: for example the new control system, or the custom-built simulator; or inside the workshop—similar to the b-roll footage used in the videos about the upgrade project. Note that the photos must be original to allow this to be done. —Sladen (talk) 11:29, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
