Remove "Stub"[edit]

This article is, in my opinion, complete and the "Stub" definition should be removed. The "See also" section links to a complete list of German POW camps in WWII, many of which have detailed articles.

Sexploitation films[edit]

I suggest that the two sections "Nazi exploitation" and "Israeli literature" be removed, as the subject matter is totally peripheral to to the main subject. I propose to replace with one sentence in the section "In popular culture" similar to the following:

Stalags were used as the venue of American, British and Israeli "Nazi exploitation" semi-pornographic films and pocketbooks in the last decades of the 20th century.

If I do not receive any objections by August 15 I will make this change.

Aparently the Israeli books were known as "Stalags". So it makes sense to mention them here. --84.20.17.84 14:29, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In popular culture[edit]

I sympathize with the person who disapproves of trivia / popular culture sections, but without the movies and books etc. the word "Stalag" would hardly be known about today. So some latitude is needed.86.42.204.93 (talk) 09:18, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Missing from that section are the references to the book and film Reach for the Skies (the biography of Douglas Bader, which included references to his participation in escapes from Stalag Lufts), the film The Great Escape, a dramatisation of, erm, the Great Escape, and the book/film The Colditz Story, about the Colditz POW prison that was part of the Stalag system. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.7.76.37 (talk) 23:49, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Marines[edit]

Were US Marines sent to regular Stalags with Army personnel or were they sent to Marlags with Navy personnel? 24.250.2.98 (talk) 22:22, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
